Owned by renowned winegrower, Ernst “Erni” Loosen (owner of the Dr. Loosen estate), the wines are hand-crafted in small lots and are sourced from our estate Appassionata Vineyard, as well as other excellent in the Willamette Valley that we have worked with for years. The philosophy at J. Christopher is to produce -driven wines in an Old World style that emphasizes focus, length and balance.

THE ABBEY RIDGE VINEYARD If Oregon had a vineyard classification, Abbey Ridge would unquestionably top the list of “grand cru” sites. It lies high up in the Dundee Hills and produces some of the most dis- tinctive wines in the state. From thin volcanic topsoil, this cool, high-elevation site typically yields delicate, finely floral wines with a touch of dried herbs and an engaging mineral depth.

FROM THE PRESS [94] Spectator “Rich and refined, with vivid raspberry and blood orange aromas and layered cherry, stony mineral and tea flavors that build complexity toward polished tannins” February 2019 [94] Wine & Spirits “From an old, high-elevation Dundee Hills site, this has an old-vine grace and balance. It leads with aromas of spice, tobacco, anise, rye grain and soil, all in the service of restrained cherry. The flavors are cool, elegant and finely wrought, with succulent ripeness. It feels natural and e!ortless; for duck” June 2019
