Swartberg Pass Tour and Kobus se Gat Country Lunch This tour departs twice daily at 10:30 and 14:00
2.5 – 3hour Experience (including lunch)
Experience the beauty of the Swartberg mountains (UNESCO World Heritage site) as you travel to the summit of the world famous, Swartberg Pass. This national monument dates back to 1881 and offers stunning panoramic views of the Little and Great Karoo which you can overlook over 200km with your bare eyes. From the summit guests are able to take a walk in the reserve between 500 different species of fauna and flora. There are several photo opportunities along this winding route which will leave you at awe. After the hike there’s an opportunity to add downhill mountain biking to get the adrenalin pumping. After the tour enjoy Traditional Karoo Cuisine at Kobus se Gat Restaurant. Feast on certified Karoo lamb chops, boerewors, ostrich kebabs, pumpkin fritters and variety of salads and vegetables all freshly harvested from the gardens at the restaurant. Freshly baked Roosterkoek served with homemade marmalades forms part of the meal. Roosterkoek (in Afrikaans – Askoekkie) is a traditional bread prepared on the coals. This is a true Karoo Experience like no other.

Swartberg Circular Tour and Kobus se Gat Country Lunch This tour departs at 8:00 from Oudtshoorn and travels via De Rust, Meiringspoort Gorge, The Great Karoo, Prince Albert, the Swartberg pass and back to Oudtshoorn.
6 Hour Experience This tour departs at 8:30 from Oudtshoorn and travels via De Rust to Meiringspoort Gorge where we visit the Great Waterfall. After swimming and relaxing at the waterfall we travel along Meiringspoort, a spectacular drive following the course of a river through soaring cliff walls and magnificent rock formations. We travel to Prince Albert where we stop for an ½ hour coffee break. The peace and tranquillity of this little town at the foot of the Swartberg will calm you. From here we continue over the Historic Swartberg Pass with high peaks reaching over 2000 meters. The Swartberg pass is a UNESCO World heritage site known as one of the most spectacular passes in the world! Enjoy the transition in vegetation and breath-taking views while we give you the opportunity to hike between the fynbos.
We travel to Kobus se Gat Traditional Veldt Restaurant where you will enjoy traditional Karoo cuisine prepared on the open fire at the foothills of the mountain pass. After lunch we return to your guest house – arrival time 16:00
