Una Disperazione Confusa
UNA DISPERAZIONE CONFUSA PIETRO ALTIERI ZAPPING TRA LUOGHI E TEMPI “Quello che si è vissuto non c’è modo di aggiustarlo, né di pulirlo, né di buttarlo”. Sono ancora sconvolto. Non so più cosa pensare. Stamattina è successo qualcosa di veramente strano, che mi ha turbato molto. Sono uscito di casa di buon’ora indossando la mascherina protettiva, come al solito in questi ultimi giorni. L’aria è grigia e pesante. La Nube Tossica ha raggiunto anche la nostra città. Si dice che sia esplosa una centrale nucleare a 300 chilometri di distanza, ma le Autorità hanno subito rassicurato la popolazione: non ci dovrebbero essere rischi di contaminazione. Gli esperti intervistati al Telegiornale hanno categoricamente escluso pericoli imminenti. La mascherina è solo una misura precauzionale, del resto non è che un filtro, utile tra l’altro anche per evitare di inalare troppo smog o le polveri sottili dei gas di scarico. Comunque, prima ancora di uscire in strada, già nell’atrio del palazzo, è capitato un piccolo episodio che mi ha sgradevolmente sorpreso. Ho incrociato il mio vicino di pianerottolo con il quale ho rapporti più che cordiali, direi quasi amichevoli, l’ho salutato espansivamente, come sempre, ma lui ha tirato dritto, senza degnarmi di uno sguardo, come se non mi conoscesse, non mi avesse mai visto, immerso nei suoi pensieri come un sommozzatore sott’acqua. Mi sono voltato stupito a guardarlo mentre si allontanava, non riuscivo a capacitarmi che non mi avesse riconosciuto. “Mah, avrà i suoi problemi anche lui, come tutti noi” – mi sono detto, e sul momento non ho dato troppo peso alla cosa, anche se un po’ c’ero rimasto male. -

Guide to Dining in the Southern Highlands Much has been written about the exceptional cuisine in the Southern Highlands from Southern Living to Gourmet Magazine. Within a twenty five mile radius of Fire Mountain there are approximately 15 mountain villages and communities located in the Southern Highlands. The best of the cuisine of the Southern Appalachian Mountains in North America is located in the Southern Highlands. Our Guide to Dining in the Southern Highlands includes a comprehensive listing and description of all establishments that our guests have given us consistent and favorable feedback about. As you use this guide we would appreciate your feedback, as a guest at Fire Mountain, which will enable us to keep this guide updated and current. We constantly add and delete establishments in the guide based on feedback from our guests and based on known openings and closings. Therefore the guide is only as good as your feedback that comes as a result of your own personal experiences while visiting Fire Mountain here in the Southern Highlands. The guide does not attempt to provide hours of operation and the days of the week open or closed unless we know for sure. Nor do we attempt to provide the months of the year the establishments are open unless we know for sure. But we do provide a current number for contact and email or web address if available.
