[email protected] Abstract — Descriptions and illustrations are provided for five Leptonia species. Three species are new to science: Leptonia boardinghousensis possesses unusual basidiomes colours, L. ambigua has subisodiametric basidiospores that atypically have obscure angles at the apex and a lignicolous habit, and L. omphalinoides is distinguished by its lignicolous omphalinoid tiny basidiomes. Two species were previously reported: L. poliopus from Europe and L. umbraphila comb. nov from the Seychelles. Key words — Basidiomycota, Entolomataceae, mtSSU, LSU, RPB2 Introduction Surveys of species in the Entolomataceae Kotl. & Pouzar were conducted during April–May of 2010–12 in the temperate rainforests of central New South Wales and February–March 2009–12 from various localities within the Wet Tropics Bioregion throughout northeastern Queensland. Among the 918 entolomatoid collections obtained during the surveys, species of Leptonia (Fr.) P. Kumm. are numerous.
