Here is this week’s HR update:

Nike company store invitation for all Metro employees

All Metro employees are invited to shop at the Nike company store from Sunday, Oct. 18 to Thursday, Oct. 22. Enjoy up to a 40% discount on merchandise from apparel to footwear and more. Make sure to bring your Metro employee ID (and a face covering) when you visit the store. See the attached flyer for how to access the discount, restrictions store address and hours.

Voluntary separation incentive for non-represented employees, deadline Nov. 20

A voluntary separation incentive negotiated with AFSCME has been extended to non-represented employees. The deadline for non-represented employees to select this option is Friday, Nov. 20. Here is what you need to know: - Employees who are in positions greater than or equal to 0.75 FTE and meet either of the following requirements are eligible to participate in this voluntary separation incentive: a) hired prior to July 1, 2012, and/or b) are within five (5) years of from PERS including “early retirement”. - Employees who elect voluntary separation may elect to receive a payment of nine thousand dollars ($9,000), OR may elect to receive full coverage for health, dental and vision benefits for six months. Coverage begins the first of the month following the effective date of the separation. - Employees must retire by January 31, 2021. If you would like to elect this option send in written notice of retirement to Human Resources to [email protected] on or before Friday, Nov. 20, 2020.

Checking in on your wellness and health is made easy with Kaiser virtual wellness appointments. Get together with a Kaiser Medical Assistant over the phone to review lab results, see if you are up-to- date with health and wellness recommendations and learn about resources such as free classes, online programs and more. Wellness check appointments are available Oct. 13, 15, 20 and 23. See attached flyer for full and instructions on how to make an appointment.

More flu shot appointments have been added for the clinic this Friday at Portland Expo Center. Sign up as soon as possible to reserve one of the additional spots.

Position opportunity: Oregon Zoo Guest Services Worker

Be part of the team that welcomes guests to the Oregon Zoo this fall and to the annual holiday Zoo Lights event by applying for an open Guest Services Worker position. This position plays an important part of visitor safety at the zoo by informing guests about COVID safety policies such as face coverings and physical distancing, as well as answering questions and monitoring ticket scanning at the zoo entrance. Applicants must be available to work at least five days each week to fill a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
