Date April 28 via ArenA Recordings New York, NY (February 25, 2015)—Sugarcane Jane, the Alabama Gulf Coast-based duo, will release their new studio album, Dirt Road’s End – an album they conceived and co- produced with legendary Americana/Roots singer- songwriter Buzz Cason. The album will be released via Cason’s ArenA Recordings / eOne Entertainment on April !28. Sugarcane Jane has amassed an extremely loyal following. Anthony and Savana Lee Crawford purvey what they proudly call “Organic Music at its Finest.” Rich, homegrown, and natural, their brand of Americana draws from a deep well of roots influences, interwoven with inflections of gospel, country, jazz, and rock. Both virtuosos in their own right, Anthony is a songwriter who plays acoustic guitar, mandolin, and a bass drum or stomp box (which he plays while strumming his six-string) and Savana Lee deftly dances between rhythm guitar, !tambourine, and snare drum. Multi-instrumentalist Anthony Crawford is known in most circles as a sideman to the stars. Over the course of the last 25 years, he has performed with Neil Young, Sonny James, Steve Winwood, Dwight Yoakam, Vince Gill, Rosanne Cash, and Rodney Crowell, and has written / co-written songs recorded by Kenny Rogers, Steve Winwood, Pegi Young, Lee Greenwood, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, to name a few. Yet, even with his history of working with heavyweights, Crawford feels Sugarcane Jane – his musical venture with multi- !instrumentalist wife Savana Lee Crawford, is his life’s calling. Recorded on analog two-inch tape on the classic Otari MTR-90 tape machine at Buzz Cason’s Creative Workshop in Nashville, this fast-paced, high-energy album traverses a range of moods and stories. “Home Nights,” co-written with Cason in a small tool shed while the two were working on solo songs for Anthony, is sweet, simple and sumptuous with a Southern groove. Autobiographical opener “Ballad Of Sugarcane Jane” traces the couple’s journey from their time in Nashville, where they met working together in a studio, to their subsequent romance and marriage. Their story is woven into the fabric of this rocking cut, featuring Anthony’s driving guitar work. “Heartbreak Road” is a fan favorite steaming with Bluegrass spirit and Rock ‘N’ Roll energy. On the New Orleans-inspired “Louisiana,” Sugarcane Jane break out their ability to “scat” with the best of jazz singers. The Cason-penned “Not Just Another Truck Song” is a tongue-in-cheek number showcasing the band’s humorous side. The album closes with the inspiring gospel-tinged “Glory Bound” (co-written by Anthony !and Cason), which was previously recorded by the Oak Ridge Boys. “The release of this album is kind of like watching your baby grow up and move out of the house,” says Savana. “These songs are such a part of us and are the very essence of Sugarcane Jane.
