L'inde S'invite En Bibliothèque La route des Indes : l’Inde s’invite en bibliothèque नमस् त Namaste े La route des Indes L’association des bibliothèques du Val d’Oise « Cible 95 » propose, pour débuter le printemps, une programmation autour de la culture indienne. Concerts, expositions, lectures, danse, films vous sont proposés dans différentes bibliothèques du Val d’Oise. La B.E.I. vous propose du 19 mars au 9 avril des ateliers d’initiation aux légendaires percussions indiennes, les tabla. Un concert du groupe gitan du Rajasthan, Kerap, accompagné de sa danseuse vous est offert le samedi 18 juin. Laissez vous guider à travers notre sélection de CD, DVD, livres et sites web. photo © 2008 McKay Savage Histoire de la musique indienne Intimement liée à la religion et à la mythologie, la musique indienne prend sa source dans les Véda, les textes sacrés de la tradition indienne écrits entre 4000 et 1000 avant Jesus-Christ. C'est par la musique que Brahmâ créa l'univers. Le raga (« passion » en sanscrit) est un concept commun à toute la musique indienne. Fondé sur une échelle de 5, 6 ou 7 notes, le raga intègre des ornements mélodiques et des microtons Chaque raga comporte des règles strictes, des tons immuables et des phrases caractéristiques. L’équilibre du monde est maintenu en jouant des ragas à des moments précis du jour ou de la nuit. Du 13ème au 16ème siècle, l’invasion musulmane au Nord du pays scinde la musique indienne en 2 traditions distinctes : Influencée par les styles arabo-persan, la musique du Nord de l’Inde, appelée musique « hindoustani » est interprétée en trois langues : hindi, sanskrit et urdu. Au Sud de l’Inde, la musique est restée fidèle aux principes ancestraux, loin de toute influence extérieure. Son évolution a donné le style "carnatique " ("ancien" dans la langue tamoul). Les bases de la musique indienne Composée de 7 notes (swaras) : Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Da, Ni , la gamme indienne est en relation avec les bruits de la nature. La singularité de la musique indienne par rapport à la musique occidentale est que la hauteur (en terme de fréquence) du Sa n'est pas fixée. C'est l'instrumentiste qui décide de sa position et qui accorde son instrument en conséquence. Cette variation constitue le principe fondamental de l'exécution des râgas (thème sur lequel on peut improviser et que l'on retrouve tout au long de l'exécution sous différentes formes. ). Il existe 3 octaves dans la musique indienne : un grave, un médium, un aigu. L'Inde possède le système rythmique le plus sophistiqué au monde. La manière de frapper les percussions est représentée par un monosyllabe singulier appelé bol. Les bols varient selon les modèles de percussion et le musicien doit mémoriser des variations complexes. Les râgas sont chantés aux différentes heures de la journée selon le sens des compositions et en fonction des sentiments évoqués. Chaque raga possède un climat qui lui est propre. Son exécution peut durer plusieurs dizaines de minutes voire plusieurs heures dans des cas exceptionnels.     The Indian Music Society of Central Illinois Proudly Presents Free for IMS members Triveni and children below 6 Musical Trio Live in Concert Samanway Sarkar and Debapriya Adhikary, are two young artistes who have paired together to present their ‘ Sitar Vocal Jugalbandi’ which has won the admiration of connoisseurs’ world over. Currently both of them are disciples of the legendary Padmabhusan Girija Devi of Benaras Gharana. Sitar – Samanway a Sarkar was initiated into the art of sitar by his father Sri. Swapan Kumar Sarkar. At the young age of four, he began his lessons with Pt, Sasanka Bandopadhyay of the Senia Gharana. He then continued his training for twelve years under the able guidance of Pt. Manilal Nag and later trained with Pt.Shyamal Chattopadhyay and Pt. Kumar Prasad Mukhopadhyay. Samanway is currently an ‘A’ graded artiste of All India Radio. Vocal – Debapriya Adhikary was in itiated to Classical music by his parents and re ceived his primary training in vocal music from his mother, Smt. Anita Adhikary. He later studied under the tutelage of Pt. Samaresh Chawdhury of the Senia Gharana for fifteen years. In 2005 Debapriya received the Jnana Pravaha scholarship which allowed hi m the opportunity to gain invaluable guidance from stalwarts like Pt.Vijay Kichlu and Late Pt. Kumar Prasad Mukhopadhyay . Tabla – Rohit Mujumdar is a young, talented and promising Tabla player of this generation. He has been a disciple of Guru Taal-Yogi P t. Suresh Talwalkar since the the age of 11.
