Le départ s’effectue en dehors avant et la réception sur le de- hors arrière de l’autre pied. Un axel simple comporte une rotation d’un tour et demi. Il est très facile à reconnaître, étant le seul saut dont l’appel s’effectue en avant. Boucle (Loop): ou rittberger, du nom de l’inventeur. Saut de carre parti en dehors arrière avec une réception sur la même carre et sur la même jambe que l’appel. Boucle piqué (Toe loop): saut pris en dehors arrière. La réception s’effec- tuant sur la jambe opposée à celle du piqué. Combinaison (Combination): combinaison de plusieurs sauts, de façon à ce que la réception de chacun d’entre eux constitue l’impulsion du suivant. Flip (Flip): saut piqué, pris en carre dedans arrière avec une réception en dehors arrière sur la même jambe que celle du piqué. Kiss and Cry (Kiss and cry): Pleurs et congratulations, c’est dans ce caisson garni de fleurs que les patineurs attendent leurs points après une épreuve, en compagnie de leur entraîneur. Lutz (Lutz): Saut piqué, pris en carre dehors arrière avec inversion du sens de rotation par rapport à la carre d’appel et réception en dehors arrière sur la même jambe que celle du piqué. Pirouette (Spin): mouvement de rotation du corps autour d’un axe vertical. La pirouette peut s’effectuer en position assise, cambré, debout ou horizontale. Salchow (Salchow): saut pris en carre dedans arrière avec réception en dehors arrière sur la jambe opposée à la jambe d’appel. The competition crowns U.S. champions in ladies, men’s, pairs and ice dance at the senior and junior levels. The 2021 U.S. Championships will serve as the final qualifying event prior to selecting and announcing the U.S. World Figure Skating Team that will represent Team USA at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Stockholm. The marquee event was relocated from San Jose, California, to Las Vegas late in the fall due to COVID-19 considerations.
