ARTE is partner of the Jerusalem Film Festival (8th – 17th July)

ARTE France will award the “International Relations ARTE Prize” worth € 6,000 at the Jerusalem Pitch Point on 11th and 12th July. The Pitch Point gives 18 Israeli filmmakers the opportunity to present their feature- length film projects to a group of international professionals including Cedomir Kolar, producer (A.S.A.P. Films), Savina Neirotti from TorinoFilmLab, Michael Weber, distributor (The Match Factory), Meinolf Zurhorst, Head of Film Department at ARTE/ZDF, Rémi Burah, Managing Director for ARTE/COFINOVA and General Secretary for ARTE France Cinéma and Annamaria Lodato, Head of Communications at the International Relations Department, ARTE France.

At the Pitch point a prize will also be given by the CNC.

Several ARTE co-productions will be screened at the Jerusalem Film Festival:

Special ARTE programming in Ramallah (13th au 23rd July)

From 13th to 23rd July ARTE in partnership with the Franco-German Cultural Centre will offer a special programming in Ramallah.

The event will begin with the Palestinian premiere of feature-length film Mascarades by Lyes Salem at the Al Kasaba Cinematheque.

th From 14 July, the following films will be presented at the ARTE screening room in the Franco-German Cultural Centre :

Civilisées by Randa Shahal Sabbag Under the bombs by Philippe Aractingi The aquarium by Yousry Nasrallah For the love of God by Ahmed and Zakia Bouchaala Waiting by Rashid Masharawi

A selection of German co-produced films is being prepared by ARTE GEIE.

Rémi Burah, from ARTE/COFINOVA and ARTE France Cinéma, and Annamaria Lodato from ARTE France will be attending the event.

The Franco-German Cultural Centre’s screening room was entirely equipped by ARTE France in 2004. ARTE organises special programming events there every year.

3 ► Bosnia and Herzegovina ARTE is partner of the Sarajevo Film Festival (23rd – 31st July)

ARTE France is renewing its partnership with the Sarajevo Film Festival. An “International Relations ARTE Prize” worth € 6,000 will be given at Cinelink – Project Development Workshop and Co-production Market. Seventeen feature- length film projects will be presented by film makers from Hungary, , Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece or Turkey.

These projects will be pitched to a panel of professionals including Georges Goldenstern from Cinéfondation, Jacqueline Ada from CNC, Annamaria Lodato from ARTE France and producers Cedomir Kolar, Behrooz Hashemian and Peter Gustafsson.

Other prizes will be awarded for development, production or post-production by CNC, Eurimages, EAVE, Living Pictures, Synchro.

ARTE is partner of the Festival del film Locarno th th (4 – 14 August)

This year ARTE France has started a new partnership with the Festival del film Locarno. An “International Relations ARTE Prize” will be awarded to one of the twelve feature-length film projects selected in the Open Doors section of the festival which highlights every year a different region where cinema is still undeveloped and where international co-productions need to be encouraged. In 2010 Open Doors is focusing on Central Asia.

Martina Malacrida, from the Festival del film Locarno, Walter Ruggle and Martial Knaebel from Visionsudest, Rémi Burah, from ARTE/COFINOVA and ARTE France Cinéma and Annamaria Lodato from ARTE France will be on the jury.

The jury will also award the Grant Open Doors and the CNC Prize.
