Manchester United : Could Robin Van Persie Leave Old Trafford? Manchester United : Could Robin van Persie Leave Old Trafford? Author : Robert D. Cobb MANCHESTER (UK) – According to media reports, Dutch talisman Robin van Persie is unhappy at Manchester United, could he be on his way out of Old Trafford? van Persie, who left long-time adversary, Arsenal, to join United for £24 million (£22.5 million, plus an extra £1.5 million if United wins either a EPL title or UEFA crown) is reportedly unhappy with new manager David Moyes and his training methods. Known to be both injury-prone and brittle during his tenure with the Gunners, the Dutch striker helped lead United to it’s 20th EPL crown, has all but replaced Wayne Rooney as top dog at Old Trafford. The former PFA Player Of The Year scored 28 goals in 40 appearances for the Red Devils his first year under Sir Alex Ferguson at United. While this is all mild speculation and unconfirmed, if van Persie is unhappy now, just imagine how he will be when he comes to discover that Moyes is no Ferguson and that United may be on their way down as a top club, thanks to rivals Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham and the fore-mentioned Gunners making moves during the transfer period. While United would add former Everton midfielder Marouane Fellani and Penarol defender Guillermo Varela, Old Trafford is not the so-called “Theater Of Dreams” anymore thanks to a disgruntled Rooney wishing to move to Stamford Bridge, Ferguson gone and rival clubs closing the gap on them, could lend some credibility to van Persie’s alleged remarks about Moyes. The living legend/icon that brought him to Manchester is no longer there and with the ongoing Rooney- Chelsea saga behind the scenes, and van Persie may be beginning to see the proverbial writing on the wall that United’s long run atop the EPL may be coming to an end. Whether or not he could actually leave is another matter, as he is in the second year of a four-year deal and locked up thru 2016. Robert D. • Netherlands to Keep Producing Top Players English.News.Cn 2011
Netherlands to keep producing top players English.news.cn 2011-07-27 21:52:18 FeedbackPrintRSS THE HAGUE, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Dutch specialists believed that the Netherlands will keep producing top soccer players in the foreseeable future, based on the country's efficient youth training system. Just one year ago the Netherlands advanced to the FIFA World Cup final in South Africa. Wesley Sneijder, Arjen Robben and Robin van Persie are the names of the current stars of the national team. They are the successors of stars from the past football legends like Johan Cruijff, Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit and Dennis Bergkamp. Wim van Zwam has been working as coach for the Dutch football association KNVB for almost ten years. Currently he is coach of the Under 19 team, responsible for the development of the youth plan Netherlands and instructor of the UEFA Pro Course. "We don't have any secrets, we just have a clear vision about how to develop football," he told Xinhua on Wednesday. "We have a vision on the game of football, the organization of youth leagues, on coach education, on player development and on team development. Very few countries have a real vision on football. That's why we are ahead of a lot of other countries." "We are good because of the structure and because of the way we think as a country. We always stick to our plan in developing football. From the Under 15 team to the Under 21's. The aim of the game must always be winning, even for the Under 8 kids," Van Zwam explained.

Italy had taken the lead through an Ernie Brandts own goal but Brandts himself restored parity before Arie Haan struck the Netherlands' winner. • Italy have held the upper hand over the ensuing three decades, during which they have recorded two draws and six wins against the Oranje, including a penalty shoot-out triumph following a goalless semi-final at UEFA EURO 2000™. • Despite playing against ten men from the 34th minute when Gianluca Zambrotta was sent off, the tournament co-hosts paid the price for two missed penalties during normal time.
