Manchester United have announced yet another global partner - this time in relation to sustainable technology. The Reds released the news that Abengoa have climbed aboard at Old Trafford, with Wayne Rooney and Angel di Maria at the launch on Monday. Rooney was shown a straight red card for kicking out at West Ham United's Stewart Downing during United's win on Saturday.

But green issues were on his mind as he, Di Maria and Abengoa CEO Manuel Sanchez Ortega fielding questions in a sustainability quiz. Manchester United Group Managing Director, Richard Arnold said: 'Manchester United is proud of all the work we have been doing over many years to meet the guidelines set in our sustainability policies. 'However we recognise how much more can be done to become even more environmentally-sound as a business. 'Through our partnership with Abengoa, we hope to learn more about how we can reach these goals and will seek their advice and assistance in implementing cutting edge technology that will help us become more sustainable.
