The Association action and attaches great importance to public engagement and uses the social media for that purpose. main actions As an inter-link between research, industry and policymaking, the WRF puts a very strong emphasis on the facilitation of networking in order to optimise the transfer of knowledge between the different stakeholders. For that purpose, special events are organised and connections to key leaders can be established through the WRF Secretariat. The WRF capacity building activities include, for instance, actively supporting the participation of scientists from developing countries, as well as facilitating the participation of young people and children The youth programme of the 2011 WRF Conference : international students had been blogging live from the event to a global audience, providing summaries, background stories, interviews and impressions. The blog seeked to engage the resource efficiency expert community and the interested general public and actively invites external comments. The youth WRF program of WRF2013 : Get an insight in the thoughts and perception of our future generation and get in touch with the teenagers, while they are working to bring their ideas onto paper. The association WRF wants to promote a strategic vision of resource productivity in all parts of the world, that’s why they expect to make their WRF’s Sustainability Events Worldwide outside Switzerland.
