    Ráda se přejídám čokoládou... říká v rozhovoru naše paní učitelka – Soňa Olivová Kolik vám je let? 50. Jak dlouho už učíte na této škole? Na této škole učím šestnáctým rokem. Jaký je váš oblíbený film? Moje oblíbené jsou pohádky, nejoblíbenější pohádkou je asi Lotrando a Zubejda. Kdo je váš oblíbený herec a herečka? Jako herečka paní Maciuchová a z mužů Hrušínský. Jaké máte koníčky? Někdy si přečtu knížku, ale to musím mít hodně velkou náladu. Potom náš pes a ráda chodím na procházky ven. Pokud se dostanem o prázdninách i třeba na hory. A potom je to především rodina. Jaké je vaše oblíbené jídlo a pití? Piji neslazenou minerálku, dříve, když to bylo vzácné, tak jsem nepohrdla i troškou coca-coly. Z alkoholických nápojů mám ráda, když je ten nápoj sladší. Na jídlo mám ráda v podstatě všechno, ale může být i něco se zeleninou. Jaká je vaše oblíbená barva? V zimě se ladím do tmavších tónů, takže třeba nějaká hnědá, černá, šedá, ale i béžová. A v létě chodím barevně oblečená. Oblékám se také podle počasí. Máte ještě nějaké jiná zvířata? Máme čivavu. Moje dcera má ještě zlatého retrívra, takže někdy chodím ven i s tímhle velkým hafanem. Jaký předmět nejraději učíte? Občanskou a rodinnou výchovu. Jakou hudbu ráda posloucháte? Mám ráda šanson nebo muzikál. Z čeho máte největší strach? Největší strach mám z válek. Ale i z toho, že by v lidské populaci převážili ti špatní, ti zlí. Kde jste se narodila? V Opavě. Kde jste byla nejdál? Na Malorce a na Korfu. Jaký byl váš největší trapas? Největší trapas tady ve škole byl ten, když jsme končili lyžařský výcvik a já jsem v autobuse ještě děti poučovala, aby se učily, protože bylo před vysvědčením, no a v autobuse mi na horním schodu ujela noha a sjela jsem po zadnici až dolů, kde stálo ještě spousta děti, které chtěly do autobusu nastoupit.

    Contact: Kristyn Souder Communications Director Email: [email protected] Phone: (267)536-9566 PRESS RELEASE Zenkaikon Convention to Bring Anime and Science Fiction Fans to Lancaster in March Hatboro, PA – January 21, 2013: On March 22-24, 2013, Zenkaikon will hold its seventh annual convention in a new location at the Lancaster County Convention Center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The convention expects to welcome over two thousand fans of Japanese animation (anime), comics (manga), gaming, and science fiction to downtown Lancaster for the weekend-long event. Zenkaikon had typically been held in the Valley Forge area of Pennsylvania. However, with the conversion of the Valley Forge Convention Center to a casino and the continued growth of the event, Zenkaikon moved its convention to Lancaster. Many convention attendees don costumes of their favorite characters to attend the annual convention. Planned convention events include a variety of educational panels and workshops hosted by volunteers and guests; anime and live action screenings; a costume and skit competition (the "Masquerade"); a hall costume contest; performances by musical guests; a live action role play ("LARP") event; video game tournaments and tabletop gaming; a formal ball and informal dances; and an exhibit hall of anime-themed merchandise and handmade creations from artists. A number of Guests of Honor have already been announced for Zenkaikon 2013. John de Lancie, best known for his roles on Star Trek and Stargate SG-1, and more recently known for his role as Discord on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, will be hosting panels and meeting attendees.     HARUHI IN USA: A CASE STUDY OF A JAPANESE ANIME IN THE UNITED STATES A Thesis Presented to the Faculty of the Graduate School of Cornell University In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Master of Arts by Ryotaro Mihara August 2009 © 2009 Ryotaro Mihara ALL RIGHTS RESERVED ABSTRACT Although it has been more than a decade since Japanese anime became a popular topic of conversation when discussing Japan, both within the United States and in other countries as well, few studies have empirically investigated how, and by whom, anime has been treated and consumed outside of Japan. This research thus tries to provide one possible answer to the following set of questions: What is the empirical transnationality of anime? How and by whom is anime made transnational? How is anime transnationally localized/consumed? In order to answer the questions, I investigated the trans-pacific licensing, localizing, and consuming process of the anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Haruhi) from Japan to the United States by conducting fieldwork in the United States’ agencies which localized Haruhi as well as U.S. anime and Haruhi fans. The central focus of this research is the ethnography of agencies surrounding Haruhi in the United States and Japan. I assume that these agencies form a community with a distinctive culture and principles of behaviors and practices in the handling of the Haruhi anime texts. The research findings to the above questions could be briefly summarized as follows. The worldview, characters, and settings of Haruhi (i.e. a fictious world of Haruhi which is embodied and described through its anime episodes and other related products) “reduces” and “diffuses” as it is transferred on the official business track from the producers in Japan to the localizers in the United States (i.e.
