Ozzy Osbourne Returns to #1 on Rock Radio Chart with “Under the Graveyard” OZZY OSBOURNE RETURNS TO #1 ON ROCK RADIO CHART WITH “UNDER THE GRAVEYARD” FORTHCOMING ALBUM, ‘ORDINARY MAN,’ ARRIVES IN 2020 “It sounds like Ozzy and, remarkably, Ozzy's voice can still tear through your soul.” NPR – 11/8/19 “With gothic guitar and a bluesy swing, the song harkens back to classic Ozzy — yet still it feels fresh.” ROLLING STONE – 11/12/19 “He's been knocked down, but Ozzy Osbourne gets back up again on his first new single in nearly a decade, the thundering "Under the Graveyard." BILLBOARD – 11/8/19 (December 9, 2019 – Los Angeles, CA) – Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter OZZY OSBOURNE has the “#1 Rock Song in the Country” this week as his single “Under The Graveyard” captures the #1 position on the Rock Radio Chart. This marks his third #1 on this chart and his first in 10 years; “Under The Graveyard” is his first new solo music in as many years. It also heralds OZZY’s forthcoming album, ORDINARY MAN, due out on Epic Records in early 2020. Listen to the song HERE. Additionally, “Under The Graveyard” has eclipsed 5.4 million streams worldwide and received acclaim from Rolling Stone, NPR, and more. A cinematic music video will be unveiled soon. Last month, OZZY unleashed “Straight To Hell,” the album’s second single featuring Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash. OZZY also joined Post Malone to perform their record-breaking collaboration “Take What You Want” in front of a sold-out audience at the Forum in Los Angeles (11/21) and to a national audience on ABC’s American Music Awards (11/24). ORDINARY MAN was recorded in Los Angeles and features producer Andrew Watt on guitars, Duff McKagan (Guns N' Roses) on bass and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) on drums. PERFORMED IDENTITIES: HEAVY METAL MUSICIANS BETWEEN 1984 AND 1991 Bradley C. Klypchak A Dissertation Submitted to the Graduate College of Bowling Green State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY May 2007 Committee: Dr. Jeffrey A. Brown, Advisor Dr. John Makay Graduate Faculty Representative Dr. Ron E. Shields Dr. Don McQuarie © 2007 Bradley C. Klypchak All Rights Reserved iii ABSTRACT Dr. Jeffrey A. Brown, Advisor Between 1984 and 1991, heavy metal became one of the most publicly popular and commercially successful rock music subgenres. The focus of this dissertation is to explore the following research questions: How did the subculture of heavy metal music between 1984 and 1991 evolve and what meanings can be derived from this ongoing process? How did the contextual circumstances surrounding heavy metal music during this period impact the performative choices exhibited by artists, and from a position of retrospection, what lasting significance does this particular era of heavy metal merit today? A textual analysis of metal- related materials fostered the development of themes relating to the selective choices made and performances enacted by metal artists. These themes were then considered in terms of gender, sexuality, race, and age constructions as well as the ongoing negotiations of the metal artist within multiple performative realms. Occurring at the juncture of art and commerce, heavy metal music is a purposeful construction. Metal musicians made performative choices for serving particular aims, be it fame, wealth, or art. These same individuals worked within a greater system of influence. Metal bands were the contracted employees of record labels whose own corporate aims needed to be recognized.

As you join us in this gathering, we pray that Jesus’ peace and power will fill you. Families with children: ◼ Restrooms with changing tables located in lobby . ◼ Nursery for toddlers 2 years and younger ac- companied by adult guardian. th ◼ We invite children (ages 3 to 4 grade) to take part in our “Children in Church” pro- gram. Worship is a family affair, something that children best learn from their parents. So, for the beginning and end of the service, we encourage parents to guide their children through the service. At the indicated time, children can come forward to hear a special children’s message at the feet of the pastor. If parents wish, the children can then sit in the ar- ea set up for them at the front-right section of the worship hall, where they will find age- appropriate and spiritually focused activities to work on during the regular sermon. At the time of the offering, children return to sit with their parents. Let’s work together to bring up the next generation in the Word of the Lord! Special needs: ◼ Large print bulletin available from usher ◼ Seats with armrests available Worship On Ash Wednesday, we began our forty day journey to the cross, a journey of repentance and prayer, of remembrance and renewal of our baptism.

  • Midyear Report Canada 2020
NIELSEN MUSIC / MRC DATA MIDYEAR REPORT CANADA 2020 1 Introduction HAT A DIFFERENCE A FEW MONTHS MAKE. IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT IT WASN’T even six months ago that Shakira and Jennifer Lopez performed for a tightly packed crowd of more than 60,000 people in Miami at the Super Bowl, while Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas picked up five Grammys at what turned out to be 2020’s last major music business gathering since COVID-19 halted live events. WBy Friday, March 13, the NBA and NHL had suspended play, the NCAA had canceled its spring tournaments, and theaters and live music venues had closed. As “safer at home” orders spread throughout the country, our homes became our offices, our schools, our daycares and our social hubs. Quickly and dramatically, life had changed. Our routines were disrupted, and we struggled to find balance. Still, the music industry was experiencing a strong start to the year. Audio streaming was growing through early March, up 20.9% over the same period in 2019. Total music consumption was up 10.8% in the first 10 weeks of the year. As working from home became a reality for many, some of the key music listening hours, such as during commutes, were disrupted. But one thing that has remained consistent as the pandemic has unfolded is entertainment’s place in helping consumers escape, relax and feel energized. In fact, in our recent consumer research studies, 73% of people said they would go crazy without entertainment during this time. Then, just as many communities began to slowly reopen, the country was shaken by the senseless May 25 killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police.
