Visit some astonishing viewing points, the surroundings of the St. George's Castle, the Cathedral (Sé Catedral) among other things. Please wear comfortable shoes. Activity offered by ISCTE-IUL. 2 - Lisbon's most monumental and historical area is Belem. It was from here that many of the great Portuguese explorers embarked on their voyages of discovery: Prince Henry the Navigator and the first overseas expedition to conquer Ceuta in Morocco, Bartholomeu Dias to round the Cape of Good Hope, the first voyages of Ferdinand Magellan, Vasco da Gama to discover the sea route to India, and Christopher Columbus stopped here on his way back to Europe after discovering the New World. Please wear comfortable shoes. Activity offered by ISCTE-IUL. 3 – Happy hour: This tour is the best kept secret of the city. Visit some hidden secrets of the downtown part, get to the famous Santa Justa Lift, go to some beautiful viewing points and funiculars, walk around the bohemian streets of Lisbon. Please wear comfortable shoes. Activity offered by ISCTE-IUL. 4 - Portuguese wine and cheese tasting activity is offered by ISCTE-IUL. 5 - Entry at the Disco is free of charge for ISCTE-IUL international students. 6 - Payment is required to participate in the following events: welcoming dinner, surf lessons, Sintra tour. Prices will be advertised during the welcoming week. 7 - On Tuesday and Wednesday students must register for ALL social activities (free of charge or to pay) at the specified time. 8 - The IRO will be closed on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Monday and Friday the IRO is opened (opening hours: 10.30 - 12.30 / 14.30 – 16.30).
