Avrutch was finally decided on. With the Rebbe Maharash's health not well, he י׳׳א missed his son's wedding. Rebbetzin Rivka walked her son down to his chuppah alone. The Rebbe Maharash told his son to not wear a at his wedding, but to wear one only when he was in the city of Lubavitch. From then on, the Rebbe Rashab would only wear a shtreimel while in Lubavitch.

Establishment of Tomchei Temimim announced It was during the wedding of the Frierdiker Rebbe that his father, the Rebbe Rashab, announced to the guests that there would be a new opening. This would be no ordinary yeshiva, there were many of those already. This yeshiva would integrate Chassidus as well as Nigleh. The actual learning started three days later on Chai Elul. The Rebbe Rashab gathered 18 talmidim, אלול and Reb Shmuel Gronem Esterman was the Shuir. We must say Selichos a minimum of four times before Rosh Hashana. If there are not enough days from this Motzei Shabbos till Rosh Hashanah starts, then we start the previous Motzei Shabbos. The first words of Parshas Nitzavim hint that we have to get up early for selichos. is 694. Sadly at the age of one and a half Reb Eliezer was niftar. His last words to his son were, “ Fear no one but the Aibishter, blessed be He.” Sadly י׳׳ח a year and a half after that, The Baal Shem Tov's mother Sarah also passed away. He was homeless until the people of the town took him in. They questioned him about being outside in the dark. His reply was simple, “I fear no one but the Aibishter, blessed be He.” After many years of not revealing his greatness, on this day at the age of 36, the Baal Shem Tov revealed himself.

Reb Baruch and Rebbetzin Rivkah traveled to the Baal Shem Tov for an a celebration that he made every year on his birthday. At the Farbrengen, the Baal Shem Tov said to Reb Baruch, “On this precise day you will hold a son in your arms.” Just before they left, they had a special Yechidus with the Baal Shem tov for a special journey back home. Rebbetzin Rivkah told the Baal Shem Tov that she would dedicate her son to Torah and serving Hashem just as Chana the mother of Shmuel Hanavi had. One year later on Chai Elul the Alter Rebbe was born. The Baal Shem Tov was very happy on that day. He was Chazzan, omitted in davening, and made a special seuda. Exactly three years later, the Alter Rebbe was brought in after Shacharis concluded. The Baal Shem Tov was the first to cut his hair. Immediately after the Baal Shem Tov cut the Alter Rebbe’s hair, he was taken into a waiting wagon. The Baal Shem Tov didn’t want the little Alter Rebbe to recognize him, as he was meant to be attached to the Maggid of Mezrich. On the wagon ride home the Alter Rebbe kept asking who that man was who cut his hair in the shul. His mother simply replied “Zaidy.”

Inauguration of 770 We all know 770 as being the most iconic Labavitch building. On Yud Tes Elul shortly אלול after coming to America the Frierdiker Rebbe moved into 770. His first stop when he entered was the shul. Afterwards he went to the dining room where he explained why we don’t bentch the new Chodesh of . Two days later on Chof Alef Elul was the כ׳׳א official Inauguration of 770. The Frierdiker Rebbe delivered a maamar followed by a farbrengen .

Birthday of the Tzemach Tzedek The Tzemach Tzedek was born on Chof Tes Elul to Reb Shalom Shachna and Rebbetzin Devorah , the daughter of the Alter Rebbe. He was named Menachem Mendel אלול after the chossid Menachem Mendel of Horodok a chaver of the Alter Rebbe, who passed away a year before. Shortly after birth the Alter Rebbe gave his parents a special linen garment to keep the baby in. This same material was given after the כ׳׳ט Mitteler Rebbe was born. The Sholom Zachar was on Shabbos Shuva in the year 5550 even though he was born on the last days of the year 5549.
