ANNUFLEX 700 Series

The standard of Hose Master's extensive line of high performance annular corrugated stainless steel hose. Proprietary hydroforming technology ensures the excellent cycle life of the hose, with minimum effort to flex or bend the hose.

Notes: The minimum bend radius is measured from the centerline of the hose. The minimum bend radius increases with pressure. The working pressure decreases with temperature. For rapid pressure fluc- tuations consult the factory.

CHLORSAFE™ ChlorSafe™ has been engineered specifically to meet the stringent demands of this application. When designing a chlorine transfer hose, Hose Master not only considered the effects of dry chlorine, but also considered what happens when moisture combines with dry chlorine to form hydrochloric acid.

TAR AND ASPHALT Hose Master's heavy-weight interlocked metal hose. Constructed from a single strip of galvanized steel with Hose Master's proprietary packing, this hose is used for transferring high-temperature, viscous fluids. Tar & Asphalt hose is leak-resistant and handles maximum suction. It is design -tested to 100 psi and has a temperature range of -40° F. to 500° F.

Piping Systems

The demand for energy worldwide continues to grow almost exponentially. To meet this demand the manufacturers of turbine engines are building unprecedented numbers of ground based power facilities. These ground based power generation facilities require a myriad of piping to deliver the fuel, coolant, and lubrication fluids needed to drive the generators of the power. In the United States more and more natural gas is being discovered, extraction methodology improved, and utilized for the production of electrical power. Aero-Flex is a prime supplier to manufacturers of the turbine generation plants. These plants utilize solid piping, flexible metallic piping, and hybrid combinations in large quantities. Aero-Flex meets the quality assurance procedures for these plants both in the United States as well as the specific requirements of other countries.

In addition to fixed and portable natural gas turbine powered generation plants Aero-Flex is in the forefront of producing the piping needs of the emerging CNG utilization market. We have built the piping, - solid, flex and hybrid, prototypes - for localized CNG compressor facilities. These facilities compress natural gas at high pressure in order to facilitate the use of that fuel in highway vehicles. These fuels are domestic, plentiful, and cheap. Increasing numbers of buses, trucks, and other motor vehicles are using CNG on a regular bases.

31 Nondestructive Testing

Helium Mass Spec Every corrugated hose assembly is leak tested prior to shipment. Standard testing consists of pressur- izing the assembly with air and then submerging the entire assembly under water. This method is relia- ble and sufficient for the majority of applications. This is the most sensitive leak detection method generally available. The standard test method is to attach the assembly to a mass spectrometer and generate a very high vacuum in the assembly. The ex- terior of the assembly is then flooded with helium. The relatively tiny helium atoms penetrate even very small openings and are drawn into the mass spectrometer where they are detected and the leak size is quantified. Helium Mass Spectrometer testing can be modified to satisfy customer or regulatory agency requirements.

Hydrostatic While the standard test is designed to detect leaks, hydrostatic testing is designed to test the assem- bly's strength. Testing of an assembly to its full permissable test pressure can be economically and accu- rately accomplished by filling the assembly with liquid while concurrently evacuating all air. The assembly is then hydrostatically pressurized using high-pressure pumps and the test pressure is maintained for a predetermined period of time.

Pneumatics Testing with air under water, at pressures of up to 2500 psi, is available for specialized applications. For a more sensitive test, the use of gases, such as nitrogen or helium, can be requested.

Dye Penetrant Dye penetrant testing is available for both leak and weld bead inspection, in accordance with Aero-Flex procedures or to customer-specified standards.
