Official Matchday Programme Windsor Football Club Blyth AFC owner Barry Elliott admits concern for club’s future

Blyth AFC owner Barry Elliott has admitted that the club’s future has become uncertain.

The Braves are enjoying an impressive start to the campaign after achieving promotion to Northern League Division One last season but Elliott has admitted that the club, who were moved out of their ground in February over fears concerning the quality of the playing surface, are increasingly running into problems off the field.

In a wide ranging interview, with the News Post Leader, the Blyth AFC owner said: “We have been successful as a club but we don’t have the support, we don’t have a home or security of tender and no income. That’s unsustainable and we are a business.

“Any business, football club or not, can’t be function if it’s not sustainable.

“Progress in the FA Cup would help massively because we could get a draw against a South Shields or a Blyth Spartans and pull in a big crowd that way.

“We don’t want to let the club go but it could be Monday, it could be next week, it could never happen but we can’t carry on being unsustainable as we are right now.

HPL – Sat 6th October @ 3.00pm Scotty the Stag

Hi Stag Fans!!

Hopefully I might see you around the ground at some point later on this season……Fingers Crossed !!

How about that for a game ? Tuffley Rovers 3 – Windsor FC 6 !!! A nine goal thriller no less. I’ve been following Windsor for a pretty long time now and I can’t ever remember seeing a 6-3 game before. What a feast of entertainment that was !! I’d be surprised if we managed to rack up another 6 at Holmer Green on Tuesday, but here’s hoping that somehow we did. It looks like if we can tighten up the defence a bit then we could be in for a really BIG season…………

Another month begins and another cup competition arrives. You certainly can’t complain about the amount of cup action you get in this league and at this level of football. I think some of our friends in the professional game who are already complaining about being tired just 6 weeks into the 2018-19 season would do well to take note. All they do is play football a few days a week and don’t have to do another job as well to make ends meet. Man up fellas and stop complaining !!

Good luck to Mick and the Boys today. The shelves in the clubhouse look a little bit bare, so another pot on the mantlepiece would be just the job !!! SCOTTY’S FAVOURITE ALL TIME FOOTBALLERS Name: Daniel Andre Sturridge
