The Camp focuses on STEAM Education; Engineering Design, Design Thinking and IT exploration. It is project based, enabling the students to explore Science, Technology, and Engineering. In addition, they will experience and enjoy Japanese Culture and other interactive learning activities. The curriculum is designed to stimulate students’ critical thinking, explore students’ interest from different perspectives and build students’ self-confidence. Students will also have opportunities to develop friendships through this camp. Please note that the language of instruction for the ICT Global Camp is English and students are expected to be able to communicate and participate fully in English. It is thought to be the original plant of this variety and was cherished by the retired Emperor Gomizuno’o (1596-1680) and designated as a natural treasure by Kyoto City. See page 104 for Kentaro Nakamura’s paper that includes information about experiments for the propagation of this historic camellia. FRONT COVER PICTURE ‘Goshiki-yae-chiri-tsubaki’ was seen on several occasions on visits during the 2010 International Camellia Society Congress in Japan. The name means, literally “Five colours, double, petals scattering”. The five colours are all seen on one tree, with branches bearing white, deep pink, pale pink, striped pink on a white background, and striped with white on a pink background, making a glorious display. The most striking trees are ancient, estimated to be 400 – 500 years old. Its history is not clear, but there is a legend that the plant of the same cultivar at Jizoin Temple in camellia japonica camellia seeds filtered camellia oil Kyoto was brought in from Korea during the war between Japan and Korea in 1593. This unique cultivar the pride of the people of Kyoto and Nara.

    Chapter 4 Marine accident and incident investigations Chapter 4 Marine accident and incident investigations 1 Marine accidents and incidents to be investigated <Marine accidents to be investigated> ◎Paragraph 5, Article 2 of the Act for Establishment of the Japan Transport Safety Board (Definition of marine accident) The term "Marine Accident" as used in this Act shall mean as follows: 1 Damage to a ship or facilities other than a ship related to the operations of a ship. 2 Death or injury of the people concerned with the construction, equipment or operation of a ship. <Marine incidents to be investigated> ◎Item 2, paragraph 6, Article 2 of the Act for Establishment of the Japan Transport Safety Board (Definition of marine incident) A situation, prescribed by Ordinance of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, where deemed to bear a risk of Marine Accident occurring. ◎ Article 3 of Ordinance for Enforcement of the Act for Establishment of the Japan Transport Safety Board (A situation, prescribed by Ordinance of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, stipulated in item 2, paragraph 6, Article 2 of the Act for Establishment of the Japan Transport Safety Board) 1 The situation wherein a ship became a loss of control due to any of the following reasons: (a) navigational equipment failure; (b) listing of a ship; or (c) short of fuel or fresh water required for engine operation. 2 The situation where a ship grounded without any damage to the hull; and 3 In addition to what is provided for in the preceding two items, the situation where safety or navigation of a ship was obstructed.
