    Journey to Canada Xavier Sequeira Acknowledgments ’m fortunate to have experienced so many nice things, met Iso many nice and interesting people, visited and lived in so many nice and interesting places. I have attempted to capture some of those experiences in the following pages. There are so many more events and people that I fail to remember now but who have been part of the exciting life I’ve lived. Here are some of the events in my life with people I’ve met along the way, who for better or worse have made an impression on me. The following pages record the people, places and par- ties, that have made my life what it is. If we met, and your name is not here, just blame it on my memory. This is my life, in my own words. Chapter 1 t was a cool Sunday morning in April, 1946. My father, John ISequeira, had been in attendance at mass that Sunday. After the service wrapped up, Dad met up with the local Goan com- munity of Iringa. The community was relatively small: about ten families or so. Today he had some special news to share: earlier that day, in the very early hours of morning, l was born at the Iringa General Hospital! Some skeptical eyebrows met his announcement — and I don’t blame them. How were his friends supposed to believe that my dad had a son on what just happened to be April 1st or April Fool’s Day. April Fools pranks were taken pretty seriously at that time.

Last crop year, Canada export- ed 23.9 million tonnes of wheat, including durum, narrowly sur- passing the U.S. with exports of 22.3 million tonnes, according to International Grains Council figures. Canada is forecast to export 21.9 million tonnes of wheat in the current crop year (2015-16), compared to 20.5 million tonnes from the U.S. The ability to link quality through the beef value chain is improving but work still needs to be done to ensure some of the reward goes back to the producer.

    News Release 5 August, 2020 CATHEDRAL CITY LAUNCHES IN CANADA Saputo Dairy UK (SDUK), a producer of leading British food brands and value-added ingredients, is pleased to announce the launch of Cathedral City in Canada. The UK’s favourite cheese brand1 is now on sale in more than 500 stores across Canada including Save-on-Foods, select independent boutiques and later this year at Loblaw-owned stores including Loblaws and Zehrs. For the launch, the Canadian range includes Mature block 200g, Extra Mature block 200g and Minis nets 6x20g formats. Cathedral City is manufactured at the multi-award-winning Davidstow creamery in Cornwall, using milk from around 330 local farms. The cheese is matured and packed in England before being shipped to Canada. Bespoke packaging has been created for the Canadian market to include dual French/English language and references to the brand’s British heritage and consistent quality. The launch will be supported by a variety of marketing initiatives, including point of sale promotions and sampling as well as social media influencer campaigns. Adam Braithwaite, Commercial Director of SDUK, said, “Cathedral City is bought and loved by more than half of all UK households2, 3 and I’m delighted that our prized cheddar can now be enjoyed in Canada too.
