Proud SPonSor September-October 2010 The Ranch Sorter ~ 5 facebook! What a Way to keep in touch!

RSNC has now joined the Facebook community and wants to invite all of our members, member’s friends and future members to “FRIEND” us. This is one more way that we will keep you updated on what is happening in the RSNC Ranch Sorting World. Also, it’s a great way to congratulate someone on a job well done at a show they recently competed at. You can let everyone know about that one person that fell off their horse or counted the cows backwards. Has this been happening a lot lately or is it just me? So, if you have not joined Facebook yet yourself, now is the time to do so. Find our page and “Friend” us. We look forward to “Accepting” your invitation.

Wide World of Horses, the most watched equine program on RFD-TV, will air the 2010 Ranch Sorting National Championships National Finals the week of September 6th, 2010. More than 3,800 teams competed at the RSNC National Finals, which were June 28-July 3 at the Hardy Murphy Coliseum in Ardmore, Oklahoma and Wide World of Horses was there to capture all of the excitement of the highly competitive finals as well as the Celebrity Sort. The celebrity sort was put together by Aaron Ralston. Aaron is an exceptional horseman who has his own TV series on RFD-TV called The Ride. The benefit for the celebrity sort was Western Wishes, which is an organization dedicated to granting “ wishes” to children with cancer. Young Brian Wilson was our guest and he was able to meet and shake hands with all of the celebrities. Aaron attracted many top horsemen from other diciplines to ranch sort and calcutta their teams so the proceeds could go to Western Wishes. They included Dick Pieper, Jim Babcock, JW Hart, Robert Chown, Rusty Dare, Jeff Petska, Kurt Crawford, Gerold Cosby, Benton Bland, Shawn Hayes and more comprising many world championship tiltles from the group of great horseman with big hearts. It was a great event and even greater cause. Furthermore Aaron has teamed up with RSNC to help spread the word about our exciting sport. Both Aaron and RSNC President Dave Wolfe developed a Ranch Sorting DVD on fundamentals of Ranch Sorting. The DVD is available on the RSNC web site but most exciting is that Aaron will be airing a two part series on “The Ride” with exerpts from this DVD and the National Finals. That series will air on September 6th and 13th at 12pm and 10 pm central time. If you cant catch it on those days it will also air again on September 12th and 19th at 11:30 pm central time. There is an old saying to the effect, “If you love September-October 2010 The Ranch Sorter ~ 7 your sport, show your support!” This certainly applies in the case of the sport of Ranch Sorting. All participants in sorting should both view RFD TV’s coverage, and should tell anyone they know who might be interested in the sport or even curious about it of this program. It is the duty of sorters to help promote their sport, so mark the date and be tuned in! Wide World of Horses, a True South Production, airs each week on RFD-TV. It began in January 1, 2007, and quickly became known for its quality and for the interesting and compelling programs that highlight the broad range of events, people, and of course, horses that make up the contemporary equine scene. Available in more than 40 million homes, RFD-TV can be seen on satellite systems Dish (Channel 231) and DirectTV (Channel 345), as well as Cox, Mediacom, Charter, Suddenlink, Bresnan and various Comcast cable systems. Each weekly program is run three times – every Monday at 12:30 p.m. EDT and 10:30 p.m. EDT on the following Sunday at 7:30 a.m. EDT. The flexible schedule allows viewers who miss an episode or just want to re-watch one to catch a later showing. For information on Wide World of Horses, and a complete schedule, visit the website at www. wideworldofhorses.com. Wide World of Horses airs September 6, 11:30 am & 9:30 pm central and September 12, 8:30 am central The Ride with Aaron Ralston airs September 6, Noon & 10 pm central and September 12, 11:30 pm central
