Sylvia Moser – a musical superwoman

“me on me“:

"Full of joy and fun, I accomplish the tasks that I face with the help of my talents and all my energy. Learning, in the sense of consciousness development, is my goal."

This daughter of two state opera singers found her way into culture at the age of five when she began ballet lessons and soon made her debut as the first child in "Wozzek" and "Rosenkavalier" at the State Opera House.

After completing her studies in singing, she appeared in the choir of the State Opera under Leonhard Bernstein, Herbert von Karajan, and Sir Georg Solti.

She came to greater popularity in 1980, when she won eighth place for Austria at the in The Hague with the song " Musik," as a member of the group "Blue Danube".

This was followed by engagements at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and opera houses in Stuttgart and Regensburg, as well as six tours through Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Denmark. In addition, there were numerous TV shows for ORF, WDR, RAI, and Hungarian television. In 1998, together with her husband conductor and pianist Paul Moser, she founded the Vienna Residence Orchestra, with whom she has been organizing around 850 concerts per year at the Liechtenstein Palace, Auersperg Palace, the Vienna Konzerthaus, Vienna Musikverein, the Vienna Stock Exchange and the Lobkowitz Palace since 1998. She has sung with the orchestra on tours of Argentina, Uruguay, Thailand, Belgium, and France. In Italy she even played live with her orchestra for a RAI show in St. Mark’s Square.

In 2012, Sylvia Moser drew up a school reform plan with the theme of “Motivation instead of Manipulation“. You can find her statements on this on her BLOG www.sylviamoser.wordpress.com.

She is interested in many scientific topics, especially brain research.

Her hobbies include listening to music, reading, hiking, swimming and paddle boarding. She has played miniature golf passionately and very successfully since she was young: among other things, she was Austrian national champion multiple times.

In addition, she holds a worldwide captain's license for vessels up to 20m for navigation range 4, and she "sails around with much pleasure!".
