Description: Spend a day in Palermo walking with our guide in the historic centre: the refined TOURS cathedral, the red Arabic bulge domes of the church of San Cataldo, the baroque church of Santa Caterina. In the mishmash of artistic styles you observe while walking you will find it difficult to fall in love with one single style.
Number of Registrants: Visit the Capo, one of the colorful fruit and fish markets of the town; the Cappella Palatina, dating from the mid-12th century and considered by Guy de Maupassant "the most precious religious jewel ever sprung on a human mind and artists' hands." Description: Visit the Valley of the Temples the largest area of Greek buildings outside Greece, listed as a World Heritage Site. The temples, erected in the fifth century BC, following the ancient principle (Greek as well as Roman), face the East so that the rising sun would first illuminate the statue of the Divinity, as a font and principle of life.

Description: The nearest town to Verdura, Sciacca, is a fishing port with lovely views over the TOURS, Mediterranean and a medieval historic centre with several notable churches, castles and piazzas. Sciacca is famous for its production of hand-worked pottery. CONTINUED

Description: Mothia, a tiny island just off the coast north of Marsala (1hour30 by bus + 10 minutes transfer by boat), it's home of a Phoenician colony. Housed in Withaker former villa, the Withaker Museum displays the amateur archaeologist's unique collection of Phoenician artefacts.
