The eight species involved are the following: European hare (Lepus europaeus), European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), wild boar (Sus scrofa), and red deer (Cervus elaphus) were all introduced from Europe (Austria, France, Germany, and Spain) to either or both Chilean and Argentine Patagonia. American beaver (Castor canadensis) and muskrat (Ondatra zibethicus) were introduced from Canada to Argentine Tierra del Fuego Island (shared with Chile). The objective of this article is to make a measurement capable of reflecting the different dimensions of human wellbeing from the Los Ríos Community Based Tourism Program, in the south of Chile. Methodologically, descriptive-qualitative research techniques and participant observation were used, plus the application of a matrix of multidimensional indicators of wellbeing parameterized by 17 complementary indicators among the subjective-objective, analyzed through the IRaMuTeQ/R software, mediated by satisfiers. The results allow us to visualize the needs and opportunities, providing elements and discussions that lead us to understand the resilience and territorial resistance of traditional societies and communities as one of the challenges of the 20th century. Most excursions are operated within the park, by Futangue Hotel & Spa. But, we also offer a selection of alternative tours in the Lake Ranco area, including some operated by third parties, for those wishing to explore more of the beautiful surroundings of our region. All excursions operated by third parties have an additional cost and are subject to availability. These are: Kayaking in the Calcurrupe river, rafting and rappelling in the Riñinahue river. We suggest to book these activities in advance. You can choose between full day excursions with lunch included (from 4 to 6 hrs) or two half day excursions (between 2 and 5 hrs each), allowing you to return to the hotel for lunch after the first excursion and then leave again in the afternoon. Caracterización de la oferta turística y zonificación en la cuenca del lago Ranco CARACTERIZACION DE LA OFERTA TURISTICA Y ZONIFICACION EN LA CUENCA DEL LAGO RANCO Un destino de naturaleza en el sur de Chile Katherine Hermosilla* Fernando Peña-Cortés** Marcos Gutiérrez*** Miguel Escalona**** Universidad Católica de Temuco - Chile Resumen: Este estudio caracteriza la oferta turística y propone una zonificación en esta temática para la cuenca del Lago Ranco. Para ello se identificaron los atractivos y la planta turística. La oferta se caracterizó de acuerdo a la propuesta de Leiva (1997) modificada por Peña-Cortés et al. (2001), en donde se agrega el componente de la espacialidad del territorio. Con el apoyo de expertos se delimitaron unidades en base a distintos criterios, lo cual permitió identificar y proponer tipologías de zonificación. Los resultados mostraron 101 atractivos turísticos. Se identificaron nueve unidades y siete tipos de zonas, que incluyen espacios geográficos de desarrollo turístico hasta de restricción de uso. Se concluye que es necesario mejorar la planta asociada al turismo, esto acompañado con proponer nuevas iniciativas que tengan plena concordancia con las potencialidades y restricciones del territorio. This work aimed to develop and validate empirical models to estimate values of turbidity from Landsat images and determine the spatial distribution of estimated turbidity in the selected Araucanian Lakes. Abstract Calanoid copepods in Chilean inland waters are the main group in zooplanktonic assemblages. They are represented by three genera: Boeckella, Parabroteas and Tumeodiaptomus . The genus Boeckella has three widespread species: B. gracilipes, distributed in practically all inland freshwaters, mainly between 33-44° S; B. poopoensis, that inhabits saline lakes of northern Chile (14-27° S); and B. michaelseni, that inhabits inland freshwaters between 44-54° S. Tumeodiaptomus is represented by T. diabolicus, that is dominant between 32- 42° S. Finally, Parabroteas has one species, P. sarsi that is abundant mainly in shallow ponds between 44- 54° S. Different assemblages of calanoid species characterize northern ( Boeckella occidentalis, B. poopoensis, and B. gracilipes ) central ( Tumeodiaptomus diabolicus , B. gracilipes, and B. bergi ), and southern ( T. diabolicus, B. gracilipes , and B. michaelseni ) Chile.
