Spätestens seit seinem Ersten Preis beim Internationalen Paulo Cello Competition 2013 in Helsinki hat sich der gerade erst 23 Jahre alte Kian Soltani auf der höchsten Ebene der neuen Cellisten-Generation etabliert. Weitere Erste Preise erhielt er beim Karl Davidoff International Cello Competition in Lettland sowie beim International Cello Competition Antonio Janigro in Kroatien. Soltani studierte bei zahlreichen renommierten Musikern, allen voran bei Ivan Monighetti (Musikakademie Basel) und Frans Helmerson (Kronberg Academy). Zu den Orchestern, mit denen Soltani zusammengearbeitet hat, gehören die Zagreber Solisten, das Georgische Kammerorchester, das Arpeggione Kammerorchester, die Basel Sinfonietta, das Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, das Sinfonieorchester Liechtenstein, das Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra und das Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra. Darüber hinaus ist Soltani regelmässig als Solo-Cellist des “West- Eastern Divan Orchestra” auf Tournee. Unter den Vertretern der klassischen persischen Musik gehört Sepideh Raissadat zu den erfolgreichsten Sängerinnen der jüngeren Generation. Bereits mit neun begann Raissadat ihre musikalische Ausbildung bei der Diva der persischen Musik, Parisa. Später nahm sie aber auch bei den Maestros Parviz Meshkatian und Mohammad Reza Lotfi Unterricht. Nach einem Studium der Malerei in Tehran setzte Raissadat ihre musikalische Ausbildung an den Universitäten Bologna und Toronto fort. Aus ihrer Zusammenarbeit mit Musikern wie Maestro Parviz Meshkatian, Mehdi Azarsina, Reza Ghassemi und Iman Vaziri sind eindrucksvolle Alben hervorgegangen. Zudem ist sie bereits in unzähligen Konzerten – u.a. auf die Einladung von Institutionen wie Vatikan oder UNESCO – aufgetreten. Zurzeit absolviert Raissadat an der Universität Toronto ein Doktoratsstudium der Ethnomusikologie. Majid Derakhshani gehört zu den bedeutendsten Komponisten und Interpreten der klassischen persischen Musik der Gegenwart. Neben seiner musikalischen Ausbildung an der Universität Teheran studierte Derakhshani Tar und Setar sowie das traditionelle, persische Musik-Repertoire Radif beim legendären Grossmeister Mohammad Reza Lotfi. In den 1970er Jahren schloss sich Derakhshani dem von Lotfi gegründeten Meister-Ensemble Sheyda an. Während seines Aufenthaltes in Deutschland 1984-2005 leitete er das renommierte, von ihm gegründete Musikinstitut Nawa in Köln. Zu den Highlights seiner musikalischen Wirkung gehört die langjährige Leitung des Shahnaz-Ensembles, das den grossen Maestro des iranischen Gesangs, Mohammad Reza Shajarian, auf seinen Tourneen in Europa und Nordamerika begleitet hat. Nach dem Abschluss seiner klassischen Ausbildung in Perkussion in Tehran wanderte Mohammad Ghavihelm 1973 nach Paris aus und setzte seine Studien der Perkussion bei Sylvio Gualda fort. Darauf folgte ein fassettenreiches, musikalisches Schaffen wie etwa Dozentur der Perkussion an diversen französischen Konservatorien, Leitung des „Conservatoire de Lucé“, Zusammenarbeit mit dem Cello-Virtuosen Yoyoma und dem Orchestre National de Lyon im Projekt Silk Road sowie mit dem italienischen Komponisten Luigi Ceccarelli. Zugleich engagiert sich Ghavihelm seit den 1980er Jahren auf den Perkussionsinstrumenten Daf und Tombak für die Vermittlung der klassischen persischen Rhythmik in Europa und den USA. Von historischer Bedeutung ist dabei Ghavihelms langjährige Mitwirkung mit Mohammad Reza Lotfi. Der virtuose Tar- und Setar-Spieler sowie Sänger, Arjang Seyfizadeh, absolvierte in Tehran sowohl auf dem Konservatorium als auch an der Universität eine musikalische Ausbildung und studierte bei namhaften Musikern wie Davoud Azad, Mohammad Reza Ebrahimi, Fariborz Azizi und Mohsen Nafar. Dank seines intensiven, musikalischen Schaffens kann Seyfizadeh heute auf eine bemerkenswerte Leistung zurückblicken. Augenfällig sind dabei insbesondere seine Kompositionen, musikalische Leitung mehrerer Ensembles und Produktion von erfolgreichen Alben. Der vielseitige Instrumentalist und Komponist, Khosrow Soltani, lebt seit 1974 in Österreich und ist Absolvent der Musikuniversität Wien im Fach Fagott und Blockflöte. Soltani war ein langjähriges Mitglied des Wiener Ensembles für Alte Musik Les Menestrels. Zudem war er in Konzerten mit René Clementic Consort und Musica Antiqua vielfach zu hören. In Wien arbeitete er als Fagottist auch mit dem Radio-Symphonie-Orchester, der Philharmonia Wien, und der Wiener Kammeroper zusammen. In den USA wirkte er in Boston Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra und Sacramento Philharmonic mit. Parallel dazu befasst sich Soltani seit geraumer Zeit mit dem reichen Erbe der klassischen persischen Musik und ist seit 1984 auf den Holzblasinstrumenten Ney, Sorna und Balaban in verschiedenen Formationen aufgetreten. Das 1984 von Khosrow Soltani gegründete Ensemble Shiraz hat sich dem Ziel verschrieben, die jahrtausendalte klassische persische Musik durch innovative Ausdrucksformen und Klangfarben neu zu interpretieren. .

In the research, the researcher focuses on the analysis of method, that is, the translation method in translating cultural untranslatability words on the novel And The Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini: novel translated by Berliani Mantili Nugrahani. The objective of this research is to know what kinds of translation method used in translating cultural untranslatability words of the novel. The researcher uses the qualitative method. The researcher describes translation method used by translator to translate the selected cultural untranslatability words. He analyses the translation by reading the source language and target language, marking the cultural untranslatability words, selecting and analyzing them based on Benny Hoed’s theory about transation method, then classified them into cultural words catagories. The research reveals that there are 19 selected cultural untranslatability words in the novel. It can be concluded that as follow: first, ten cultural words translated by using exotic method (this method choose to let element of source language culture into target language), second, four cultural untranslatability words translated by loan cultural method.
