Therefore, making this complex attractive by means of various methods is very important. Hence, different techniques have been applied to make the complex more attractive and they are studied in this work. The main objective was to find a significant relationship between conveying the aesthetic value from the viewpoint of the audience through the techniques applied to convey the historical, visual, preserving and social values. In this regard, according to the results and variables of the study, some questionnaires were developed using the Likert Scale and were distributed among 400 visitors. This research is both quantitative and qualitative. Through the qualitative method the techniques applied to convey the values were assessed while through the quantitative method the SPSS software was used for inferential analysis of the variables and the Pearson correlation test and ANOVA were also used.

GM JR 04-244 PREFACE In response to a request from the Government of Islamic Republic of Iran, the Government of Japan decided to conduct a basic design study on the Project for the Improvement of Equipment for Restoration and Preservation of Arg-e-Bam (Bam Citadel) and entrusted the study to the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). JICA sent to Iran a study team from August 11th to September 7th, 2004. The team held discussion with the officials concerned of the Government of Iran, and conducted a field study at the study area. After the team returned to Japan, further studies were mad. Then, a mission was sent to Iran in order to discuss a draft basic design, and as this result, the present report was finalized. It is considered that climate change on a global scale is one of the contributing factors in natural disasters, and irreplaceable cultural heritage damage can lead to an irredeemable loss for people. Therefore, it is important to take measures routinely to prevent disasters af- fecting cultural heritage as well as to carry out restoration to cultural heritage swiftly and appropriately after a disaster has struck. Appeals to Japan from overseas for cooperation in the recovery process of disaster-affected cultural heritage have increased. Providing swift and effective post-disaster support is difficult so that it has become necessary to grasp what kind of contribution is feasible and to take cooperative action together with the host country. With a background like that, the Japan Consortium for International Cooperation in Cul- tural Heritage was commissioned in fiscal year ending March 2010 by the Agency of Cultural Affairs to carry out a study of disaster prevention systems, disaster-time recovery initiatives and the role of international cooperation.

Iran’s Earthen Architectural Heritage as Reflected in the errT a Congress Proceedings and Iran Journal Abstract Iran is an important place for architectural and archaeological studies, especially for its wealth of earthen architecture. International scholarly studies in Iran began in the late nineteen and early twentieth centuries. However much of this research was not published until the end of the 1950s. In the 1960s, many scholarly conferences and publications on the conservation of earthen architecture began. Two major events occurred regarding Iran’s architectural heritage. The first was the founding of an international academic journal, Iran Journal, in 1963 by the British Institute of Persian Studies. The other was the formation of the first international congress on the conservation of earthen heritage, Terra, held in 1972, in Yazd, Iran.
