User Experience Improvements - 2017 USER EXPERIENCE IMPROVEMENTS - 2017 What’s happening? Huddle is on an exciting journey that will continue to improve the usability and overall experience of using Huddle, making it even easier for you to work with your colleagues, partners and clients. Why are we doing this? The feedback and the insight gained from talking to our users is crucial to how our product and design team make decisions about where, what and how we should improve Huddle. In recent months we’ve been testing our new designs with users and were encouraged by their feedback and have already started incorporating these changes into Huddle itself. What will change? Over the coming year, you will continue to notice some changes being applied to the look and feel of Huddle on the Web. For the most part, the changes will be enhancements to look and feel, re-organising how information is presented on the screen and simplifying interactions within the core feature set of Huddle. This document will be updated on an ongoing basis to communicate all important changes to Huddle’s interface only (general release notes can be found here). October 2017 – Navigation & responsive Web App changes Status: Planned release in early to mid November 2017 Navigation changes In this release we are making an important change that affects the way you navigate between and within workspaces. What does this mean? Your workspaces, which are currently accessed in the “global navigation” bar of Huddle at the top of the screen, will now be displayed on the left side of the screen (we call this the “navigation sidebar”). This means you will see the names of other workspaces you’re part of and be able to quickly move between them. Once you have navigated to any given workspace, the sub navigation for the workspace itself (Files/Folders/Tasks/People/etc) will also be displayed on the left along with the other workspaces you have access to. 1 of 7 THIS DOCUMENT AND THE INFORMATION IN IT ARE PROVIDED IN CONFIDENCE, AND MAY NOT BE DISCLOSED TO ANY THIRD PARTY OR USED FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE WITHOUT THE EXPRESS WRITTEN PERMISSION OF HUDDLE. © Huddle 30-Oct-17 Current Workspace navigation layout New Workspace "navigation sidebar" layout New workspace navigation - interactions explained Clicking the name of any workspace listed in the sidebar navigation panel will take you to the overview for that workspace. If the workspace overview is not enabled for the given workspace, you will be taken automatically to the next available feature (E.g. Files) If you are a member of more than 6 workspaces, there will be a link (as shown via the annotations above) to enable you to "Show all" remaining workspaces you have access to. 2 of 7 THIS DOCUMENT AND THE INFORMATION IN IT ARE PROVIDED IN CONFIDENCE, AND MAY NOT BE DISCLOSED TO ANY THIRD PARTY OR USED FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE WITHOUT THE EXPRESS WRITTEN PERMISSION OF HUDDLE. © Huddle 30-Oct-17 Clicking the 'Workspaces' or 'Show all' link will show the full list of all workspaces you’re in and easily filter them by name (as exists on Huddle today). You will be able to add new workspaces and invite new users from the sidebar navigation as shown below. Responsive web app changes This release will deliver another key evolution of our UX vision, making core parts of our web app 'responsive' to different screens. Applying responsive behaviour to Huddle means we are able to make full use of the screen space available on your laptop or monitor, maximising the working area and presenting content to you in an optimal way. Small screen Medium screen Large screen Small screens – how it will work The contents of Huddle will expand horizontally to fill the screen. To maximise the working area of smaller screens, the navigation sidebar will be collapsed by default and can be opened by clicking the menu button below the dashboard (home) icon as shown below. Medium & large screens - how it will work As with small screens, the contents of Huddle will expand horizontally to fill the space available on wider screens, maximising the working area as seen in the examples above. 3 of 7 THIS DOCUMENT AND THE INFORMATION IN IT ARE PROVIDED IN CONFIDENCE, AND MAY NOT BE DISCLOSED TO ANY THIRD PARTY OR USED FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE WITHOUT THE EXPRESS WRITTEN PERMISSION OF HUDDLE. © Huddle 30-Oct-17 Advanced customisations & branding To support the work we are doing to release the navigation sidebar and responsive web app changes as outlined above, we are excited to announce some improvements to the advanced customisation & branding services we offer. Utilising key assets of your brand identity, logo & primary colour, our simple yet powerful approach applies them to core elements, accents and branding areas, aligning Huddle’s interface with your branding and organisational needs. Whether you are using Huddle as an internal collaboration tool, or working with important clients, suppliers or partners outside of your organisation, our new customisation and branding offering delivers a strong organisational presence within Huddle which is focussed on your valuable brand. Below is a side by side example of how Huddle looks 'out of the box' vs how Huddle will look with the new custom branding modal applied to your Huddle account. July 2017 – Global new look & branding changes Status: Released on 6 July 2017 In this release we've updated the overall look of Huddle. Things will still continue to work the way they did before, but will just look a little different. We’ve also introduced an important change to Company and Workspace branding that will make the experience of working with your files and folders easier. Global new look We’ve improved the overall user experience of existing functionality with a cleaner and less cluttered design, making it easier for you to perform actions, read and work on your content. 4 of 7 THIS DOCUMENT AND THE INFORMATION IN IT ARE PROVIDED IN CONFIDENCE, AND MAY NOT BE DISCLOSED TO ANY THIRD PARTY OR USED FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE WITHOUT THE EXPRESS WRITTEN PERMISSION OF HUDDLE. © Huddle 30-Oct-17 File View with the new global visual changes 5 of 7 THIS DOCUMENT AND THE INFORMATION IN IT ARE PROVIDED IN CONFIDENCE, AND MAY NOT BE DISCLOSED TO ANY THIRD PARTY OR USED FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE WITHOUT THE EXPRESS WRITTEN PERMISSION OF HUDDLE. © Huddle 30-Oct-17 Change to branding when working within the Files tab When working with files and folders (in the 'Files' navigation tab) we’ve removed the branded area at the top the page. Your content and actions are easier to access at a glance, allowing you to get to work faster. Company and Workspaces branding continues to exist in all other areas of Huddle as it does today. Your ability to brand and customise Workspaces is of utmost importance to us and we are exploring different ways of improving the overall branding experience for our customers. Branding area June 2017 - Global navigation & Files UX improvements Status: Released on 28 June 2017 In this release, we’ve updated the look of the global navigation bar, increased the size of the file preview and made other some tweaks to how we present information when you view files. • The Desktop (Overview)
The desktop (overview) The desktop is the main screen area that you see after you turn on your computer and log on to Windows. Like the top of an actual desk, it serves as a surface for your work. When you open programs or folders, they appear on the desktop. You can also put things on the desktop, such as files and folders, and arrange them however you want. The desktop is sometimes defined more broadly to include the taskbar and Windows Sidebar. The taskbar sits at the bottom of your screen. It shows you which programs are running and allows you to switch between them. It also contains the Start button , which you can use to access programs, folders, and computer settings. On the side of the screen, Sidebar contains small programs called gadgets. The desktop, taskbar, and Sidebar Where did my desktop go? Because programs run on top of the desktop, the desktop itself is often partially or completely hidden. But it's still there, underneath everything. To see the whole desktop without closing any of your open programs or windows, click the Show Desktop button on the taskbar. The desktop is revealed. Click the icon again to restore all of your windows to the way they were. Desktop Training Session Handout Page 1 http://ict.maxwell.syr.edu/vista/ Working with desktop icons Icons are small pictures that represent files, folders, programs, and other items. When you first start Windows, you'll see at least one icon on your desktop: the Recycle Bin (more on that later).

  • Toolbar,Sidebar and Statusbar Libreoffice (Writer)
NIELIT Gorakhpur Course Name: O Level (1st Sem) Subject: ITTNB Topic: Toolbar,Sidebar and Statusbar Date: 21-04-20 Libreoffice [Writer] Toolbar:- The toolbar, also called bar or standard toolbar, is a row of boxes, often at the top of an application window, that control various functions of the software. The boxes often contain images that correspond with the function they control. A toolbar often provides quick access to functions that are commonly performed in the program. For example, a formatting toolbar gives us access to things like making text bold or changing its alignment, along with other common buttons. In an Internet browser, toolbars add functionality that may not come pre-installed. For example, with the Google toolbar, you can get access to exclusive Google features. To activate it, enable View > Toolbars > Standard (Single Mode) and disable View > Toolbars > Standard and View > Toolbars > Formatting. Sidebar:-The Sidebar is located on the right side of the edit views of Writer, Calc, Impress, and Draw. It contains one or more panels, based on the current document context. Panels are organized into decks. A tab bar on the right side of the sidebar allows you to switch between different decks. All components contain the Properties, Styles and Formatting, Pages , Gallery, and Navigator decks. Some components have additional decks, such as Master Pages, Custom Animation, and Slide Transition for Impress; Manage Changes for Writer; and Functions for Calc. To activate the Sidebar, select View > Sidebar from the Menu bar. To hide the Sidebar, click on the gray Hide button on the left. Click on the same button to show the Sidebar again.

  • Going Further with Gephi and Tableau
Going Further with Gephi and Tableau Exercise 3 In this exercise you will create distinct @ mention and retweet networks in Gephi. 1. Open Gephi and find the file you wish to use (probably the one used in Exercises 1 & 2). 2. Switch to the Data Laboratory tab. 3. Select the Edges table. The Edges table contains the three columns we exported from Tableau - Weight, @mention, and retweet: Weight is equal to the total connections between Source and Target, taking into account both @mentions and retweets. Gephi uses just the Weight column to analyse and visualise a network. So, we will first protect the original total weight values we exported from Tableau by duplicating them in a new column. 4. In the button bar at the bottom of the Gephi window, select Duplicate Column. 5. Click on Weight to select the column you want to duplicate. 6. Name the new column Weight (original), and click OK. The Edges table now contains a new column that duplicates Weight. 7. We can now safely reset the Weight values to zero. In the button bar at the bottom, click on Fill column with a value. 8. Select Weight. 9. Enter 0 and click OK . You’ve now reset all edge weights to zero. 10. We’ll now focus first on the retweet network. In the button bar at the bottom, click on Copy data to other columns. 11. Select retweet. 12. Choose Weight as the destination column and click OK. The Weight column now matches the value of retweet, with zeros where there were no retweets between two accounts.
