General Information We are a small, private, fruit tree nursery specialising in Welsh apples and heritage fruit tree varieties. We cannot produce an accurate stock list as sales and production change daily and it would be immediately out of date, but here is a list of varieties we usually produce, stock and recommend – we can obtain or graft others.

Fruit trees sales are highly seasonal. Trees which are sold as “bare root” can only be lifted, stored and sold during the times when a tree is dormant, usually between November and March. Containerised trees can be sold at any time during the year, but we do sell out of popular varieties during the Autumn.

Fruit trees are grafted to different rootstocks, which allow the same variety of fruit to grow to different heights, from dwarf trees to large orchard trees. Rootstocks also determine the vigour of a tree, not only its potential height - for example, in a less hospitable environment a “large” rootstock would be required to ensure the tree had the vigour to survive and grow, and the eventual tree would be smaller than otherwise would be expected.

We also sell a variety of crab apple trees including John Downie, Jelly King, Red Sentinel and Pink Glow, which can be useful pollinators and used to make crab apple jelly, and nut trees including hazelnuts, walnuts and filberts.

Soft fruit: we also have a variety of soft fruits available including raspberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants and whitecurrants, and can obtain other varieties.
