    02․10․2020 Yerevan / Armenia STATEMENT ON THE RECENT AGRESSION OF AZERBAIJAN AGAISNT NAGORNO-KARABAKH We express our serious concern regarding the Azerbaijani large-scale armed attack, which has continued since 27 September along the entire line of contact between Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) and Azerbaijan. Armenia’s eastern city of Vardenis is also under the fire of the Azerbaijani forces. Moreover, on October 1 Azerbaijani armed forces used artillery in the direction of Shatvan village of the Gegharkunik region of Armenia, as well as launched a missile attack from a combat UAVs at Mets Masrik settlement. Later, the Azerbaijani UAVs invaded the airspace of the Republic of Armenia and carried out surveillance flights near Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia. All the UAVs were destroyed by the air defense forces of Armenia. This aggression is accompanied by serious violations of the laws and customs applicable in armed conflicts. In particular, Azerbaijani armed forces are intentionally targeting civilian settlements, infrastructures, and schools, including in the capital city of Stepanakert, and in the cities of Hadrut and Berdadzor. Azerbaijan has never made secret of its strategic goal to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict by using force and, thus, has been maintaining the tension high across both the line of contact and the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border. In April 2016 and in July 2020, these aggressive acts of Azerbaijan resulted in major escalations. On a number of occasions, Azerbaijani president has publicly denounced the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs aimed at the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, thus openly resorting to war.

The voice call is performed by transferring from 4G technology to 3G; upon the session completion 3G is switched back to 4G. The usage speeds of the mentioned technologies depend on the coverage, the load of the base station as well as on the quality and class of the device in use by the subscriber. Հայերեն աշխարհագրական անվանումները պետք է տառադարձվեն այլ լեզուներով` հիմք ընդունելով տվյալ լեզվի արտահայտման առանձնահատկությունները, առավելագույնս մոտեցնելով դրանց գրելաձևերը հայերենի արտասանության հնչողությանը։ Առանձին դեպքերում ընդունված ավանդական գրելաձևերը հասցվել են նվազագույնի։ 5. Աշխարհագրական անվանումների տառադարձությունը, որպես կանոն, կատար- վում է հայերենի ժամանակակից գրելաձևից՝ հաստատված «Հայաստանի Հանրապետության վարչատարածքային բաժանման մասինե Հայաստանի Հանրապետության օրենքով և տերմի- 11_0220 2 նաբանական կոմիտեի 1956 թվականի սեպտեմբերի, 1958 թվականի փետրվարի և 1978 թվականի փետրվարի համապատասխան որոշումներով։ Հայերենի այն հնչյունները, որոնք չունեն ռուսերեն և անգլերեն համարժեքներ, տառադարձվում են հնարավորինս ավելի մոտ

YEREVAN, 2021 Introduction The first day of the ceasefire agreement, November 10, 2020, stopped the 44-day aggression of Turkey-Azerbaijan alliance against the unrecognized, small Republic of Nagorno Karabakh. A young woman journalist from Nagorno Karabakh wrote on her Facebook page: “I went to kiss the walls of my Amaras1 monastery, as I know I will never see it again.” That first day of peace, many people drove to visit the Dadivank2 monastery for the last time, to bid farewell to the spiritual treasure that was an inseparable part of their historic, centuries-old identity as Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh. People were confident that in only a few days, they would no longer be able to visit any of their national treasures so dear to their hearts—treasures of intellectual history that they grew up with. The videos broadcast and shared by Azeri soldiers over the internet showed them standing on the Green Church3, taking off the cross, and destroying the bell tower. It left the local Armenian population with very little hope for the preservation of the sites. The newly drawn map had handed over to Azerbaijan the control of these national treasures, dear to their hearts and part of their geographic landscape of historical monuments. As is true for all world nations, the lives of Armenians can’t be separated from their intellectual, cultural heritage.

  • Azerbaijani Drones' Targeted Attacks Against Peaceful Population Of
    Azerbaijani drones’ targeted attacks against peaceful population of Armenia and Artsakh are in grave breach of International Law: investigation results of Armenia’s Human Rights Defender Since 27 September 2020, the first day of the Azerbaijani offensive civilians in Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) have been targeted. The Azerbaijani side is uses military drones (unmanned aerial vehicles, UAVs) as means of aggressive and indiscriminate attacks against civilian settlements and peaceful population. These attacks are intensive and systemic. 24/7 investigation of Armenia’s Human Rights Defender has revealed that Azerbaijan uses different types of drones to target peaceful population in Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh: • intelligence drones, Orbiter -2, Orbiter – 3, Aerostat, among others; • striking drones, including Harop, Zaoba-1K, Sky Striker; • intelligence-striking drones, Bayraktar TB-2, AN-2, etc. Drone attacks have been recorded in different civilian villages and cities of Armenia and Artsakh. These attacks have caused casualties, including killing of civilians and destruction of houses. Amost all Nagorno Karabakh civilian settlements, including densely populate cities (capital city of Stepanakert, Hadrut, etc.) have been and continue to be under targeted attacks of above mentioned drones. Since September 27 drones are attacking civilian settlements and peaceful population of Armenia – villages around the town of Vardenis, Gegharkunik Province (Kut, Sotk, Shatvan, Shatjreq, Norabak, Tretuq, Kutakan). The recent occurrence of such an attack took place on October 1 in Shatvan, Mets Masrik villages, Gegharkunik province of Armenia. It ended up with one civilian killed and two injured, civilian houses burned out. Fact-finding mission of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia has revealed that almost all attacks against mentioned villages were carried out in the late evening or during nights, when people are at home and in most cases – they sleep.
