Sub. : Merger of separate cadres of Constable and Lady Constable, ASI and Lady ASI, SI and Lady SI, Inspecor and Lady Inspector in the Unarmed Branch of West Bengal Police into respective gender-neutral cadres.

The undersigned is directed to refer to his Office Memo. No. 855-Org dated 25.07.2019 and to say that the proposal for merger of separate cadres of Constable and Lady Constable. ASI and Lady ASI, SI and Lady SI, Inspector and Lady Inspector in the Unarmed Branch of West Bengal Police into respective gender-neutral cadres, was under active consideration of the Government for some time past.

2. Now, the undersigned is directed to say that the Governor has been pleased to accord approval to the merger of separate cadres of Constable and Lady Constable , ASI and Lady ASI SI and Lady SI, Insector and Lady Inspector in the Unarmed Branch of West Bengal Police into their respective gender-neutral cadres, subject to the followings :-

a) The provisions of extant rules are to be adhered to; b) Sevice benefits as available to the personnel in both the cadres shall not be changed to their disadvantage; c) Individual seniority in the post-merger Gradation List shall not be changed in any way; d) It has to be ensured that the proposed formation of the cadre will not entail any additional financial implication.

3. This order issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide their U.O. No Group-P2/2019-2020/0948, dated 12.03.2020.

Subject : Preparation of Range Approved List (RAL) of Police Office Clerks for promotion/appointment to the post of Upper Division Clerks, Cashier, Accountant, Reader Clerk and Head Clerk.

Consequent upon creation of new Police Districts, Police Commissionerates, Battalions and other units, it has been felt necessary to re-group the districts, police commissionerates, battalions and units for the purpose of preparation of Range Approved List (RAL) of Lower Division Clerks for promotion to the post of Upper Division Clerks and Upper Division Clerks for promotion/appointment to the post of Cashier, Accountant, Reader Clerk and Head Clerk.

2. It is also felt necessary that the districts, police Commissionerate, battalions and units are re-grouped in such a manner that the original inter-se seniority of staff in the erstwhile ranges and offices is maintained in spite of creation of new formations.

3. In view of the above, the following Range Boards are hereby constituted for preparation and maintenance of RAL in supersession of Police Order No. 01 of 1996 and/or any other order or orders issued in this respect in the past.
