Speed™, Fox Sports Continue Team Approach to Formula One Coverage in 2010 SPEED™, FOX SPORTS CONTINUE TEAM APPROACH TO FORMULA ONE COVERAGE IN 2010 BUXTON JOINS SPEED AS GRID REPORTER SPEEDTV.COM TO DEBUT FANTASY GAME, ENHANCED VIDEO OFFERINGS The familiar faces of Bob Varsha, David Hobbs and Steve Matchett once again will lead the SPEED/FOX Sports Formula One broadcast team as SPEED rolls into its 15 th year as the exclusive U.S. cable broadcaster of the FIA Formula One World Championship, beginning with live coverage of the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix on March 14 at 7:30 a.m. ET. One face, however, will be new to the U.S. viewing audience. Will Buxton, the 29-year-old founding editor of GPWeek magazine, will report from the grid, replacing Peter Windsor, whose efforts remain focused on his start-up US F1 project. “First up, I've got to admit that I’m just massively excited about the whole thing,” said Buxton, who will join the team shortly after he and wife Emma welcome their first child. “It’s a huge honor to be joining the SPEED team, and in particular to be doing so at the start of what could be an incredible era in the history of Formula 1. “F1 is a bit of a soap opera at times,” Buxton added. “As a journalist it’s what makes the sport such a joy to report on. There’s always something going on in the background, and I won’t shy away from doing my best to get to the heart of every issue. That said, I don’t think that my job at SPEED is simply to report the news. Far from it. As one of the lucky few who can actually get into the F1 paddock, I think that probably my biggest responsibility is to open it all up to the American fans: to invite them in, sit them down, introduce them to a few people and show them what’s going on. It’s the fans that make this sport, so my job is to give them the access they deserve.” According to Varsha, the SPEED team is welcoming its newest member with open arms. “It's always a good sign when a job interview turns into a 'bench racing' session that goes beyond the appointed time,” Varsha said. “That's what we shared with Will when he visited our SPEED studios. Despite being the youngest member of our lineup, he's a veteran of television and print with experience of both Formula One and GP2. I look forward to working with him on what should be another thrilling and unpredictable grand prix season.” Buxton, from Great Britain, served as the GP2 press officer from 2004 to the end of the 2007 season, and was sole communications/media representative for 2006 and 2007 He has been covering single-seater racing (F1, GP2, F2 and F3) since 2002. Westbury Gillett will fill in for Buxton for the first few races of the season. In 2010, SPEEDtv.com will increase its Formula One offerings, highlighted by a new fantasy game -- SPEED Fantasy Racing: GP Edition -- and a selection of video clips from practice, qualifying and race coverage. In addition SPEEDtv.com will introduce an enhanced stats package and continue with RaceCast timing and scoring from all sessions, as well as providing Matchett’s popular post-event “Chalk Talk” wrap-ups. SPEED will air 15 races live, complete with practice and qualifying coverage, and for the fourth year, FOX will air four consecutive events, beginning with the Canadian Grand Prix, using the same on-air team. Practice and qualifying for those four events will be live on SPEED. • Local Information Programming and the Structure of Television Markets
Local Information Programming and the Structure of Television Markets Federal Communications Commission Media Ownership Study #4 Jack Erb* Office of Strategic Planning and Policy Analysis Federal Communications Commission Email: [email protected] May 20, 2011 Abstract: We analyze the relationship between the ownership structure of television markets and the amount of local news and public affairs programming provided in the market (at both the overall market and individual station levels). We find that commercial television stations that are cross-owned with major newspapers in the same market tend to air more local news programming, but that the station-level increase does not translate into more local news programming at the market level. Television-radio cross-ownership has a moderate (but statistically significant) positive impact on local information programming at the station level, and each additional in-market radio station controlled by the television station owner corresponds to additional local news minutes aired by the television station. However, local news programming at the market level is likely to be lower, as the scale economies enjoyed by the cross-owned stations are outweighed by the crowding out of local news programming on other stations. Multiple ownership (i.e., situations in which a single parent controls two or more stations in the same market) does not appear to impact the amount of local information programming at either the market or station level (though this result appears somewhat dependent upon model specification). But we do find that multiple ownership and broadband subscribership have a positive impact on the relative mix of local vs.

  • Caso De Estudio

  • Press Release
Press Release OCTOBER 06, 2013 Podium lock out for Renault power in Korean Grand Prix Sebastian Vettel wins Korean Grand Prix for Infiniti Red Bull RacingRenault, four seconds ahead of Kimi Raikkonen. Lotus F1 Team’s Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean finish second and third to make podium 100% Renault powered. Third allRenault powered podium this season. Vettel has led 209 of the past 213 racing laps. Vettel’s win gives him a mathematical chance to seal championship in Japan. Renaultpowered drivers locked out the podium in today’s Korean Grand Prix, with Sebastian Vettel (Infiniti Red Bull Racing) winning the chaotic race from Lotus F1 Team’s Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean. The perfect podium result is the third time this season that the podium has been 100% Renaultpowered.* Vettel – whose pole position yesterday took Renault’s total of F1 poles to 208, equal with Ferrari’s record – opened up a comfortable lead at the start ahead of Grosjean, who had jumped ahead of Hamilton on the first corner. The pair built up a cushion of several seconds over the battles behind and were able to pit and rejoin in formation. Vettel remained in front despite two different safety cars but Raikkonen got the jump on Grosjean before the second safety car period. The Finn had a standout race from P9 on the grid, overtaking Rosberg, Hamilton, Alonso, Hulkenberg and finally his teammate to score his second consecutive podium. Mark Webber started from P13 as a result of a grid penalty but quickly found himself into the top ten racing with Alonso and Raikkonen.

  • Video 14 – Turkey Preview
Video 14 – Turkey Preview [Cut to Christine. ] Chris: Welcome to Sidepodcast TV , today we are previewing the Turkish Grand Prix. [Intro shots of Turkey. Cut to Christine. ] Chris: It’s not long since Toro Rosso announced their split with driver Scott Speed in favour of German Sebastian Vettel. Now the team have announced their second Sebastian signing, this time in the form of Bourdais, double Champ Car champion. He will replace Tonio Liuzzi for the 2008 season, in a move that Liuzzi describes as unsurprising. Relationships within the team have been strained for a while, so the decision to shake thing s up a bit for 2008 can only be a good thing. I wonder if McLaren will have to do something similar. [Cut to shots of Bourdais. Cut to Christine. ] Chris: Onto Turkey, then, it’s Formula 1’s third outing at the Istanbul Park Circuit, arguably one of the best from designer Herman Tilke. The track features the incredible Turn 8, that just seems to go on and on… but… I don’t want to spoil it for you. Here’s the lap in more detail. [Cut to Allianz animation.] Chris - Voiceover Although it’s still a relatively new track, the Istanbul Park Circuit has already become a firm favourite of both teams and fans alike. It still bears all the hallmarks of the Tilke design but there are some extra special bits thrown in to make it interesting, like the fact that the course runs anti -clockwise. This is the first of only two anti -clockwise tracks this year, which makes it a tough challenge for drivers.
