The very stones will cry out from the wall, and the plaster will respond from the woodwork. Alas for you who build a town by bloodshed, and found a city on iniquity!” Is it not from the Lord of hosts that peoples labour only to feed the flames, and nations weary themselves for nothing? But the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2:9–14 NRSV The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. 6 The Gradual ¶ The choir sings the following refrain, then all repeat O Lord, your love en - dures for - ev - er: do not a - ban - don the works of your hands. I will give thanks to you, O Lord, with my whole heart; before the gods I will sing your praise. I will bow down toward your holy temple and praise your Name, because of your love and faithfulness; For you have glorified your Name and your word above all things.
