Gemeinsam mit seinem niederländischen Landsmann Marco van Basten wurde er 1987 für eine Weltrekordsumme von Milan verpflichtet und startete in der Serie A richtig durch, am Ende des Jahres gewann er den Ballon d'Or. Da van Basten verletzt war, war er die führende Figur beim Gewinn der ersten italienischen Meisterschaft der Rossoneri nach neun Jahren. • 1988 führte er die Niederlande zum Sieg bei der UEFA-Europameisterschaft in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Im Endspiel sorgte er mit einem großartigen Kopfball für das 1:0 von Oranje gegen die Sowjetunion. • Er sollte nur bei einer FIFA-WM auflaufen - Italia '90 - doch bei der EURO '92 zeigte er sich wieder in Bestform, als der Versuch der niederländischen Titelverteidigung im Halbfinale im Elfmeterschießen gegen Dänemark endete. Insgesamt bestritt er 66 Länderspiele und erzielte dabei 17 Tore. • Mit Milan gewann Gullit zwei Mal in Folge den Pokal der europäischen Meistervereine, wobei er 1989 im Finale zwei Mal gegen den FC Steaua Bucureşti traf. 1990 erholte er sich rechtzeitig von einer langwierigen Verletzung, um im Endspiel gegen SL Benfica dabei zu sein. • Sein achtjähriger Aufenthalt in Italien endete mit einem Wechsel nach England, wo er das Ausklingen seiner aktiven Laufbahn mit dem Start seiner Trainerkarriere bei Chelsea verband. Als Spielertrainer gewann er dort 1997 den FA Cup, danach war er jeweils kurzzeitig Trainer von Newcastle, Feyenoord, LA Galaxy und Terek. Obwohl er mit dem Verein keinen Titel gewinnen konnte, stieß er mit Les Girondins 1996 bis ins Finale des UEFA-Pokals vor. • Im selben Jahr wechselte er zu Athletic Bilbao, blieb dort aber nur ein Jahr, bevor er zu den Bayern ging - jenem Team, gegen das er mit Bordeaux das Endspiel des UEFA-Pokals verloren hatte. • Sein erstes Länderspiel für Frankreich bestritt er 1992 und wurde zu einem Stammspieler in jener Mannschaft, die bei der EURO '96 ins Halbfinale kam, ehe man im eigenen Land zwei Jahre danach die WM gewann und sich später den Titel bei der UEFA EURO 2000 sicherte. Innerhalb von vier Minuten hatte er den Ausgleich geköpft, in der fünften Minute der Verlängerung erzielte er dann das erste wirklich wichtige Golden Goal. Deutschland hatte einen neuen Nationalhelden, doch für Bierhoff, der erst wenige Monate zuvor sein Länderspieldebüt gegeben hatte, war es erst der Anfang. Er wechselte später zum AC Milan und bestritt im WM- Endspiel 2002 sein 70. und letztes Länderspiel, wobei ihm insgesamt 37 Tore gelangen. Mittlerweile hat er eine führende Rolle beim Deutschen Fußball-Bund (DFB) inne. Angelos Charisteas Geboren am: 09.02.1980 Position: Stürmer Bei der UEFA EURO 2004 war die griechische Mannschaft voller Helden, doch einer ragte heraus, da er sowohl im Endspiel gegen Gastgeber Portugal als auch im Viertelfinale gegen Titelverteidiger Frankreich das Siegtor erzielte. Charisteas war sein Name. Auch im Gruppenspiel gegen Spanien traf er, doch zu Griechenlands Titelgewinn steuerte er mehr bei als nur Tore. Motiviert, vielseitig und unermüdlich war er und noch dazu frisch - denn obwohl er als frischgebackener deutscher Double-Sieger zur Endrunde anreiste, war sein Beitrag zu Werder Bremens Triumph nur gering gewesen. Charisteas ist zwar der zweiterfolgreichste Stürmer der griechischen Länderspielgeschichte, doch bei seinen Vereinen, unter anderem in den Niederlanden, Deutschland, Frankreich und Griechenland, lief es selten so richtig perfekt. Vicente Del Bosque Geboren am: 23.12.1950 Position: Mittelfeldspieler Del Bosque, der mit Real Madrid CF fünf Mal die spanische Meisterschaft und vier Mal den spanischen Pokal gewann, beendete seine Laufbahn in der spanischen Nationalmannschaft bei der UEFA-Europameisterschaft 1980 in Italien - seinem einzigen großen Turnier als Spieler. Kurz nach seinem Karriereende im Jahr 1984 wechselte er in den Trainerstab von Real Madrid. Dort kümmerte er sich viele Jahre um die Jugendteams, ehe er im November 1999 die Profimannschaft übernahm. Bis zu seinem Abschied im Jahr 2003 brachte er es auf sieben Titel, unter anderem zwei Siege in der UEFA Champions Leagues und zwei Meisterschaften. Im Juli 2008 wurde er Nachfolger von Luis Aragonés als spanischer Nationaltrainer. Er gewann seine ersten 13 Spiele und stellte damit einen Weltrekord auf, unter seiner Regie konnte Spanien in Südafrika erstmals eine FIFA-Weltmeisterschaft gewinnen und bei der UEFA EURO 2012 den kontinentalen Titel erfolgreich verteidigen. Antonín Panenka Geboren am: 02.12.1948 Position: Mittelfeldspieler Unsterblich machte sich Panenka am 20. Juni 1976 in Belgrad, als er im Finale gegen die Bundesrepublik Deutschland den entscheidenden Schuss im Elfmeterschießen verwandelte. Mit Nerven aus Stahl chippte er den Ball frech einfach in die Mitte des Tores, wo soeben noch Sepp Maier gestanden hatte. Seither ist diese Art des Elfmeterverwandelns untrennbar mit seinem Namen verknüpft. Der Spielmacher des FC Bohemians Praha spielte auch noch 1980 bei der EM-Endrunde und 1982 bei der WM, wo er zwei weitere Elfmeter verwandelte. 1985 erreichte 3 UEFA EURO 2016 - ENDRUNDEN-AUSLOSUNG Samstag 12 Dezember 2015 - 18.00CET (18.00 Ortszeit) Pressemappe Paris, Frankreich er mit dem SK Rapid Wien das Endspiel des Pokals der Pokalsieger und beendete diesen Wettbewerb als bester Torschütze. David Trezeguet Geboren am: 15.10.1977 Position: Stürmer Als Trezeguets strammer Schuss in der 13. Minute der Verlängerung des Endspiels der UEFA EURO 2000 in Italiens Netz rauschte, wurde der Joker zum Nationalhelden in Frankreich. "Trezegol", ein echter Strafraumstürmer, erzielte neun Monate zuvor in Frankreichs letztem Qualifikationsspiel gegen Island ebenfalls den Siegtreffer und schoss 34 Tore in 71 Länderspielen - doch eines Platzes in der Startelf durfte er sich nicht sicher sein. Durch seinen vergebenen Elfmeter im Endspiel der WM 2006 gab es zudem eine späte Revanche für Italien. Africa Cup of Nations stadiums The first African Cup of Nations (CAN) was organised in 1957 and has been held every two years since 1968. 16 teams have participated in each tournament since 1998. In 2010 the Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided to move the CAN to uneven years to avoid the event clashing with the FIFA World Cup. In the last six CAN tournaments all final venues have had a capacity over 45,000 and an average capacity of just over 58,000, which is comparable to the requirements UEFA has for the stadiums that stage the UEFA Euro final. However, the average capacity of the smallest venues used for the CAN is just 19,500 seats, which differs from UEFA’s minimum requirement of 30,000 seats. Both Tunisia and Egypt, who hosted CAN in 2004 and 2006 respectively, already had a decent number of stadiums available and did not make any major investments in new stadiums. Tunisia hosted the Mediterranean Games in 2001 and leading up to these games they constructed Stade de 7 Novembre, which after the 2011 revolution is now named Stade Olympique de Radès.

I refer to your complaint of 6 June 2000, made pursuant to Article 3(2) of Council Regulation No.17, relating to an alleged violation by the organisers of the 2000 European Football Championships of Articles 81 and 82 of the EC Treaty. 2. On 18 February 2002 Mr. Pons on behalf of Mr. Schaub informed you that the Commission, according to Article 6 of Regulation (EC) 2842/98 of 22 December 19981, intended to consider that there were insufficient grounds for granting your application (“the Article 6 letter”). 3. This preliminary conclusion was in particular based on the fact that the Commission qualified the relationship between UEFA and its member associations with respect to ticket sales as a principal/agent relationship. Any limitations imposed by UEFA on its member associations could therefore not be regarded as a restriction of competition for the purposes of Article 81 EC. Furthermore, the Commission considered that neither UEFA nor Euro 2000 or the national associations infringed Article 82 EC by virtue of the behaviour mentioned by the complainant. 4.
