The literature databank on Actinedida presently comprises 5,171 papers on 1,624 species. Since the literature of the Actinedida is vast, we have excluded as in past volumes two major taxa from the database: Eriophyidae and the paraphyletic group “Hydracarina”, since these are available elsewhere. The Tarsonemidae have been included since 2006, uniting the Bibliographia Actinedida with the Bibliographia Tarsonemidologica formerly published by RACK and MAHUNKA. The publications cited here reflect the worldwide research interest on the taxonomically difficult Actinedida. The present volume includes publications by researchers from 31 countries and 6 continents. The majority of first authors listed in this year’s volume come from Brazil (14%), Japan (11%), the USA (10%) and India (6%). However, contributions come from many disparate countries, including Turkmenistan, Sri Lanka, Iran and Turkey. The majority of the over 200 publications listed this year (40%) again concern economically important topics such as plant protection, acaricides, predator/prey relationships and biological mite control. Furthermore, systematics and taxonomy are strongly represented (>30%), i.e., descriptions of new taxa (43 papers), reviews and redescriptions (12 papers), phylogenetics etc. Another major subject (28%) concerns ecological themes, i.e., general ecology, faunistics, life history or bionomy. This year, an increase in molecular studies on Actinedida can be observed. A total of 43 families are represented in this volume. The majority of the papers deal with the economically important Tetranychidae (45%). Strongly represented are the Parasitengona (17%) with 11 families. Other commonly represented families in this volume are Tarsonemidae, Stigmaeidae, Tenuipalpidae, and Cunaxidae. The recent publications on actinedid mites will continue to be published every year as far as we can ascertain them. We thank all authors who have sent reprints of their papers on Actinedida. Reprints of the majority of papers cited here are present in the Chelicerata Department of the State Museum of Natural History in Görlitz. The literature collection as well as the literature databank for Acari is growing from year to year and is now one of the largest in the world. Access of the databank with the types and the original descriptions as well as previous issues of ACARI is possible via http://www.naturkundemuseum- goerlitz.de/acarologie/. We ask for your continued help in keeping our literature database on Actinedida as complete as possible. Please send reprints or copies of all your papers on actinedid mites or, if this is not possible, complete reference citations so that we can include them in the list. Besides this literature database, the State Museum of Natural History in Görlitz maintains an Actinedida collection, also of reference species. We thus explicitly call for determined material. Type species may also be deposited in the acarological collections of the State Museum of Natural History in Görlitz. The availability of these collections is guaranteed, as presently numerous scientists and technical personnel are actively working with them. As with any journal, mistakes and omissions are to be expected. Critique and suggestions are welcome and explicitly called for. Please inform us if we have failed to list any of your publications in the Bibliographia and we will include them in later volumes. Received: 04/11/2017 Accepted: 14/12/2017 Abstract Most larvae of Erythraeidae are considered as parasites of various insect species, and their adults seem to be effective generalist predators of several agricultural pests. Studies of this fauna is limited in Syria. The present study aimed to identify mite species of Erythraeidae in a pesticide-free citrus orchard in Latakia governorate/Syria. Surveys were carried out three times in 2016 and 2017. Three Erythraeid species were collected, and all belong to the genus Erythraeus: Erythraeus (Erythraeus) phalangoides, Erythraeus (Erythraeus) adanaensis and Erythraeus (Zaracarus) didonae. This is the first report of these species in Syria. Morphological remarks of each species were collected and provided. Keywords: Acari, Erythraeidae, Erythraeus, larva, Syria Introduction Recent advances in knowledge of mite fauna in Syrian agro-ecosystems are took place. Actually, the number of reported species from Syria increased from about 15 species in 2012 to more than 80 species in 2017 (Zriki et al., 2015; Barbar, 2016, 2017; Zeity, 2017; Barbar and Ueckermann, 2017), and more species still to be discovered. The family Erythraeidae presently comprises more than 300 nominal species (Gerson et al., 2009; Krantz and Walter, 2009). Most larvae of these mites are parasites of various arthropods, but adults have been shown to be effective generalist predators of several agricultural pests including insects and spider mites (Zhang, 2003; Gerson et al., 2009).

ABSTRACT Mites play an important role in the biological cycle of nature, as well as in the agricultural cycles of plants. They are considered to be very important for most plants, especially fruit orchards, which case both, qualitative and quantitative losses, they also cause different types of allergenic reactions among the fruit handles and farmers. A comprehensive survey of mites inhabiting pomegranate orchards at Assiut and its suburbs was conducted in the work herein. During the current work, colonies of the pomegranate false spider mite, Tenuipalpus punicae Pritchard & Baker and the mango spider mite, Oligonychus mangiferus (Rahman & Sapra) were recorded on pomegranate trees at Assiut governorate. The relative abundance of both mite species and their natural enemies was conducted. Based on previous studies, about 24 mite species in nine families were recorded in Egypt. In order to determine species composition of phytophagous and predacious mites on pomegranate trees, samples were taken from leaves, buds and fruits during 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 seasons. The citrus brown mite, Eutetranychus orientalis (Klein); T. punicae and the broad mite, Polyphagotarsonemus latus (Banks) seemed to be the most common phytophagous mites on pomegranate trees. On the other side, several predatory mite species were also recorded in the present work.

Spiders remain the single largest fossil group, but our aim here is to offer a summary list of all fossil Chelicerata in their current systematic position; as a first step towards the eventual goal of combining fossil and Recent data within a single arachnological resource. To integrate our data as smoothly as possible with standards used for living spiders, our list for Araneae follows the names and sequence of families adopted in the Platnick Catalog. For this reason some of the family groups proposed in Wunderlich’s (2004, 2008) monographs of amber and copal spiders are not reflected here, and we encourage the reader to consult these studies for details and alternative opinions.
