Beautifully Renovated and Remodelled Period Home with Shepherd's BEAUTIFULLY RENOVATED & REMODELLED PERIOD HOME SCHOOL FARM HOUSE, DENTON ROAD, ALBURGH, NORFOLK BEAUTIFULLY RENOVATED AND REMODELLED PERIOD HOME WITH SHEPHERD’S HUT SCHOOL FARM HOUSE DENTON ROAD, ALBURGH NORFOLK, IP20 0BY The Property School Farm House is a period brick and tiled property dating back to circa 1750 and 1850 with modern later additions and alterations. The property has been fully renovated and remodelled to include a new contemporary wing, completed at the end of 2018. The blend of period and contemporary works brilliantly in this property which compliments its semi-rural location and views of the garden. We draw your attention to the floor plans for a full explanation of how the accommodation is arranged. Externally the property includes a contemporary shepherds hut/garden room offering self contained accommodation as well as a double cart lodge/store and a further secure building. Outside The property is approached via a five bar gate to a wide gravelled drive leading to the front entrance to the property. The drive extends to the double open fronted cart lodge with additional storage. Immediately by the gate there is an attractive pond with associated wild life and the old village telephone exchange now provides a useful additional secure brick store. The formal gardens lead away from the house on the south side with a large paved patio leading out from the kitchen and up to a wide lawned garden with mature hedging. A beautiful mature curved beech hedge separates the house from the shepherd’s hut, which comprises a sitting room with wood burner, kitchenette, double bedroom and adjoining shower room. There is also an attractive front porch with good views out to open country side. The gardens and grounds in all extend to about 0.65 of an acre. Situation The property is situated close to The Waveney Valley and approximately five miles from the bustling market town of Bungay on the edge of The Broads, famous for its independent shops and cafes and historic centre. Bungay is mentioned in The Times as ‘an attractive place to visit’. Heading north towards Norwich, the village of Hempnall is approximately five and half miles, which again has shops including post office and store and delicatessen, whilst the city of Norwich is approximately 18 miles to the north and the coast of Southwold is approximately 21 miles. Within the village of Alburgh is a primary school and secondary education is available at Bungay or Loddon. • Parish Registers and Transcripts in the Norfolk Record Office
Parish Registers and Transcripts in the Norfolk Record Office This list summarises the Norfolk Record Office’s (NRO’s) holdings of parish (Church of England) registers and of transcripts and other copies of them. Parish Registers The NRO holds registers of baptisms, marriages, burials and banns of marriage for most parishes in the Diocese of Norwich (including Suffolk parishes in and near Lowestoft in the deanery of Lothingland) and part of the Diocese of Ely in south-west Norfolk (parishes in the deanery of Fincham and Feltwell). Some Norfolk parish records remain in the churches, especially more recent registers, which may be still in use. In the extreme west of the county, records for parishes in the deanery of Wisbech Lynn Marshland are deposited in the Wisbech and Fenland Museum, whilst Welney parish records are at the Cambridgeshire Record Office. The covering dates of registers in the following list do not conceal any gaps of more than ten years; for the populous urban parishes (such as Great Yarmouth) smaller gaps are indicated. Whenever microfiche or microfilm copies are available they must be used in place of the original registers, some of which are unfit for production. A few parish registers have been digitally photographed and the images are available on computers in the NRO's searchroom. The digital images were produced as a result of partnership projects with other groups and organizations, so we are not able to supply copies of whole registers (either as hard copies or on CD or in any other digital format), although in most cases we have permission to provide printout copies of individual entries.

For the purpose of this report and ease of presentation we have set out the report based on areas in which the incidents were located. A summary of the 34 incidents affected in each area can be found below: • Shotesham: 1 internal • Hempnall: 1 internal • Easton: 2 internal • New Costessey: 1 internal • Wymondham: 2 internal • Poringland West: 4 internal • Poringland East: 3 internal • Surlingham and Rockland St Mary: 2 internal • Mundham: 1 internal • Ditchingham Dam: 1 internal • Harleston: 4 internal • Winfarthing: 3 internal • Hethersett: 1 internal • Scole: 6 internal (b) Flooding causes The flooding incidents covered within this report are from across a large area. Mainly these areas are rural settlements that are surrounded by agricultural land, exceptions include New Costessey and Wymondham. Key trends seen throughout the report are: • Properties were sitting along an overland flow path on which rainfall was concentrated • The drainage system near the affected properties was partially or fully obstructed reducing its efficiency • Surface run-off from rainfall made its way on to private tracks/roads/highway and flowed towards the affected properties which sat below these features • Drainage of individual properties was unmaintained and could not cope with the heavy rainfall/ Drainage at individual properties was partially or fully obstructed reducing its efficiency and contributing to the flooding.

Account Sent: 19 December 2016 14:55 To: reviews Subject: Draft Recommendations on the new electoral arrangements for SNDC Attachments: pc.docx Follow Up Flag: Follow up Flag Status: Flagged Good afternoon, Please see attached the views of Alburgh Parish Council. Jackie Ellis Clerk to Alburgh Parish Council 1 Draft Recommendations for new electoral arrangements Views of Alburgh Parish Council: We do not agree with your recommendations for many reasons. Please see below: Our proposed new ward is too large. At present we share a ward with four other parishes which are important to us, most especially Wortwell. We do not agree with your new plans to separate Alburgh and Wortwell as we have very strong historic parish links. To separate these would be extremely detrimental to our local community. Transport Links: There are no good links across our proposed ward. There is a bus service to Wortwell, Harleston, Denton and Norwich. There is no bus service to Bungay other than the school bus. There are no links with the east of the ward. Community Groups: At present we hold joint meetings with 5 parish councils once a year. They are Alburgh, Wortwell, Denton, Topcroft and Earsham. People from our parish attend events in Wortwell and likewise with people coming to our events. Children from Wortwell come to Alburgh and Denton Primary School.
