Detroit, MI (November 4, 2014) - metro-Detroit singer-songwriter Maggie Cocco celebrates her CD Release at The Loving Touch Theater on December 13, 2014. Cocco will perform songs from her brand new album, titled "Get Me" at this "Women Who Rock" Showcase featuring special guests Carolyn Striho, Rio & the Rockabilly Revival and American Idol's Keri Lynn Roche. "It's a privilege to be producing this Detroit Women of Rock event and creating a forum for Forgotten Harvest to raise awareness of families needing a food in Michigan," said Janel Stone, Founder of 7 Stone Management. "All of these women are beyond talented and are ready to give back and to rally behind this cause. What a fantastic forum for Maggie Cocco to debut her new CD". Fresh from the recording studio and signing her first management contract with Detroit's power promoter / manager Janel Stone of 7 Stone Management, Maggie Cocco is excited to debut her album "Get Me" which reflects her musical fusion of old time rock and roll, layered with rhythmic blues and soaring melodies. This ten track CD is a unique combination of strong vocalists meets diverse instrumentals. "Maggie has worked hard on this CD and she has an undeniable powerful and beautiful voice," said Stone. "I am thrilled to be working with her and Cocco Music, to put on a impecable CD Release event." "I couldn't be happier with my new LP and having the opportunity to release it in a Detroit Women Who Rock forum with Rio, Striho and Roche," said Maggie Cocco. "I feel blessed to share the stage with these incredible musicians benefitting Forgotten Harvest. Giving back makes it all the more sweet." Carolyn Striho is a veteran Detroit singer/songwriter with high-energy performances and award winning music, who has rocked stages across Europe, Lollapalooza and Michigan's Arts Beats & Eats Festival. Combining her punk rock attitude, with the soothing sound of her acoustic guitar, Striho is a strong presence on the Detroit indie music scene and has opened for such acts as The Ramones and Iggy Pop. This charismatic performer with a soulful acoustic sound may have traveled all over the world, yet is a Detroit girl at heart. The feeling is clearly mutual with an impressive 50 Detroit Music Award nominations and 7 Detroit Music Award wins. "I have been fortunate to work with many local, national and international woman in music and now to be featured on a lineup of 'Detroit Women Who Rock', I am just flat out excited," said Carolyn Striho. "Maggie, Rio and Keri definitely fit that label. Plus, Maggie is premiering her new LP. Talk about a fantastic night!" Rio and The Rockabilly Revival is the epitome of Southern-rock music meshed with flavoring of a punk rock attitude. A staple of the Detroit Music Scene, Rio and the Rockabilly's high energy performances are a nod to "The Church of Rock and Roll". Tom Stevens from Metro Vibe Magazine describes Rio's on-stage antics as "... a firebrand; a hell-spitting minx whose core, however, is hope and salvation. And, frankly, enough earthy sex appeal to move tectonic plates. Whipping an audience into a frenzy worthy of a revival tent is akin to water rolling off a duck's back for Rio and company." "To be in the company of such dynamic, talented women is invigorating! That sense of sisterhood and camaraderie has always been an important part of who I am, not only as an artist but as a woman," said Rio Scafone of Rio & the Rockabilly Revival. "I'm delighted to be part of Maggie's special night. It's going to be one heck of a night!" Twenty-four year old Keri Lynn Roche broke out on this year's American Idol where she landed on the "Top 24" of this hit shows 12th Season. A Michigan native, Roche's gritty soulful sound is layered with a folky rock vibe and has earned her performances at the world renowned House of Blues, The Venice Beach Boardwalk, The San Diego Onyx Room and even Detroit's Blind Pig. Roche's new single, "Scar on my Heart" is now available on iTunes. "We're all so honored to be supporting Forgotten Harvest in our home state where the unemployment rate is high, food is often the first thing people will sacrifice. It's heartbreaking to read statistics where 1 in 6 people don't have enough to eat," said Keri Lynn Roche. "As women, we can come together and empower change. That's the sense of purpose I live each day to fulfill. I hope many will join us to donate, volunteer, enjoy the music and be involved in this wonderful event!"
