The congregation of the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit is a congregation founded by St. in 1889, with the assistance of Sisters Maria and Josepha Hendrina Stenmanns. From a humble origin in a remote village in , Holland, the Order has now branched out to over 50 countries with around 3,200 Sisters of 47nationalities forming a network of over 425 communities. The first group of 4 sisters arrived in India in 1933, who started their work in Madhya Pradesh. The Sister’s dream of reaching to Bombay (Mumbai) becomes reality in 1961. Seeing the health condition of the people Sr. Carmelann Mckee the founder of Holy Spirit Hospital set up a dispensary, in Mumbai in 1964. Down the years, the mission continued to expand and the number of ministries grew. The main apostolate of the Sisters are education, health care, socio-pastoral care, defending the rights & dignity of women and children, providing homes for the mentally & physically challenged, for the aged and the underprivileged.

In the year 1965, dispensary was upgraded into an outpatient clinic. Holy Spirit Hospital turned to 65 bed general hospital in 1967. Today our Hospital stands proudly as an upgraded 300 bed, ultra-modern, multi-specialty tertiary care hospital committed to its motto “Service in Love”. Over the years, we are blessed with lush green landscape, conducive to healing.

We have a completely dedicated 21 bedded, well quipped oncology cancer centre with state of art modern sophisticated machines and other facilities. The hospital provides high quality oncology services at affordable cost. We also have the 10,000 sq. ft, ultra-modern, full-fledged Heart Centre comprising 14 Bedded Cardiac ICU, Advanced Phillips Allura Cath Lab, and a well-equipped Cardiac Operation Theatre. We are pioneer of the concept of RADIAL LOUNGE- for walk-in and walk-out angiographies.

Holy Spirit Hospital is also a teaching hospital for CPS and DNB programs for doctors. It also has well structured Nursing institute promoting professional qualification and value based education through General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM), Basic B.Sc. Nursing and Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing courses.

Reaching to the unreachable through the community health we began with main four clinics and subsequent six mobile clinics. Our primary aim is met through community development and health awareness programs, Nutrition care, Medical camps and Crèche. We have embraced the total population of 24,000 making health care available at affordable cost to the economically backward & marginalized at a reachable distance.
