Coburg Football Club COBURG FOOTBALL CLUB A RICH HISTORY, A BRIGHT FUTURE The Coburg Football Club, formed in 1891, compete in the Victorian Football League at a Senior Men’s level and in the Essendon District Football League at a Junior Boys and Girls level and has a rich history of supporting talented footballers and helping them achieve their football goals by playing an important role in the talent pathway in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne. Our commitment to our local community is something that we are extremely proud of and we look forward to building on our strengths as we approach the 2020 football season. COBURG FOOTBALL CLUB BE PART OF OUR JOURNEY TO SUCCESS Our club is one of 5 “standalone” or “independent” clubs in the VFL competition without an AFL club support. We are the only VFL club to have it’s own Junior program which helps our club create greater engagement opportunities in the community via school visits, footy clinics and more. Via a F.I.D.A (football for all abilities) program we are also able to provide opportunities to athletes of all abilities. As a club we aim to provide fantastic opportunities for our corporate partners to engage with our growing network of members, participants, stadium visitors and current club partners. COBURG FOOTBALL CLUB THE CLUB’S FUTURE After many years of petitioning, the State Government of Victoria, the local Moreland City Council and the AFL combined for a total of $6.7million in funding to fully redevelop our training and home game facility in Coburg. Redevelopment works commence in February 2020 and is set for completion in December 2020. This redevelopment will present many exciting opportunities for our club from a player recruitment/retention point of view aswell as greater non-football revenue opportunities and also a more modern and safe setting for our facility visitors, club members, players and staff. THE CLUB’S FUTURE COBURG FOOTBALL CLUB OUR VALUES AND WHAT WE STAND FOR As the only “standalone” VFL club in the Northern Suburbs, we take our position as the most professional football club in the region very seriously and we always try to use our state wide platform to benefit the community. We foster a family friendly environment and welcome all members of our community. Professional, relentless, selfless, united and dedicated are our club’s core values. Our club has two major causes that we promote each year – Vicki Cleary Day – Our club’s annual campaign to end violence against women in society. NAIDOC Week –We celebrate NAIDOC week each year by engaging with Aboriginal community groups and raising awareness of our nation’s first people and the Aboriginal culture. COBURG FOOTBALL CLUB OUR COMMUNITY Our club uses social media, EDM newsletter and club website to communicate with our members, supporters, sponsors and the general public. Our online community is growing year on year just 1265 club members in 2019 – a new club record like our membership base and crowd attendances. 164k website views from 30k different users in 2019 Many messages, posts and pages are dedicated to our valued club 1129 average home game crowd in 2019 partners to boost our partners audience and engagement. There have been so many positive news stories coming out of Coburg FC this year that have been shared on our various Social Media channels, to recap: ● Coburg FC have been granted a license to participate in the VFL’s 2021 competition!
