Footy is an industry that never stops. We always have to be looking forward so as we can build on what we have achieved this season in 2013. Our focus now is to maintain a good portion of our list and also go out and start recruiting players to replace those that will leave.

Our major focus is to again put together a really strong list of Werribee players to have success in 2013, with the main aim - playing one week longer. Team Pre Game

The President’s Lunches at Werribee Football Club have grown over the years into a very entertaining afternoon at the football. The lunch offers a unique football experience as well as the opportunity to network among the Werribee sponsors and supporters.

This year in line with our joint number one ticket holder Russell Mark and his wife Lauryn competing in the London Olympics, the lunches and club functions featured Olympians. Guests over the season heard from Jana Pittman, Australian Waterpolo captain Sam McGregor, Alisa Camplin and of course Russell & Lauryn Mark.

Another feature of the lunch was the insight into the game itself with regular appearances from Werribee Senior Coach Scott West but also from some of our opposition coaches like Premiership coach Matthew Knights and Gerard Fitzgerald.

The President also hosted many big names outside of football including Club Patron Julia Gillard Prime Minister of Australia and Victorian Premier Ted Baillieu.

Last Monday 24th September the City of Wyndham voted to explore redevelopment opportunities within Avalon Airport Oval @ .

A feasibility process will consider the viability and practicability of proposals presented by the Werribee Football Club.

Some of our requests include Construction of a new player gymnasium Additional cover and seating New offices Player education room Theatrette Refurbishment of change rooms and social room

In conjunction with this project Council are reviewing their turf wicket policy, which is recommending that a new facility be created for a new District Cricket Club, which could be the Werribee Cricket Club. Therefore, potentially, Avalon Airport Oval could become an Australian Rules Football Oval – only

This project will be managed by Councils Major Projects Department, with assistance via a Steering Committee made up of representatives from Council, Werribee FC, AFL Victoria

Once more information is acquired, this will be forwarded onto all members.

The Werribee Football Club has continued its investment into the community which has seen Community Development Manager Chris Gal- lagher and players attend schools, local clubs, local events and host a variety of coaching semi- nars and initiatives.

The club has a tremendous relationship with schools within Wyndham through a number of initiatives such as the term 2 “Active Kids” pro- gram, Active after - school care program, NMFC huddle schools football program and assistance with school football teams training.

The home match between Werribee Tigers and Casey Scorpions gave fans the opportunity to celebrate the cultural diversity of the area as part of Multicultural Round. The day was abuzz with activity, including cultural performances from the Songroom, Wyndham Park Primary School and the Burmese community, food stalls supplied by the Migrant Hub in Werribee, a half time Multicultural Auskick game, jumping cas- tles, and face painting.

In conjunction with AFL NAB Auskick the Wer- ribee Football Club invites Wyndham Auskick centres to home games so they can experience playing grid games at half time in front of family and friends. The Werribee Central Auskickers were lucky enough to put their skills on show to Prime Minister Julia Gillard who visits Werribee games as our Club Patron. All 8 centres around Wyndham have a chance to showcase their skills on Avalon Airport Oval as well as a select few getting the opportunity to attend AFL games to play at half time.

Finally, the Werribee Football Club would like to thank its community partner Riverwalk Estate for its contribution made to the club along with all the local community groups that the club has been involved with in 2012.
