Five species of the genus are described as new, P. sinicus sp. n. and P. chiangshunani sp. n. from central Yunnan, China, P. pufujiae sp. n. from west- ern Yunnan, China, and P. holzschuhi sp. n. and P. glabripennis sp. n. from southern Yunnan and northern Vietnam. Pseudoechthistatus birmanicus Breuning, 1942 is excluded from the fauna of China. Three poorly known species, P. obliquefasciatus Pic, 1917, P. granulatus Breuning, 1942, and P. acutipennis Chiang, 1981 are redescribed, and the type localities of the former two species are discussed. Endophallic structure of seven species in inflated and everted condition are studied and compared with their relatives. -

Breuning, J. L. Gressitt, E. G. Linsley and other authors on almost every aspect of the study of longicorn beetles in recent years (Sy stematics, zoogeography, ecology and others). As careful records have been made attending to relations between the seasons of ap pearance and activity of beetles, seasonal changes in their vertical distribution, and their precise horizontal distribution in Japan, it is clear that it is impossible to accurately ex plain the complicated true situation by simple indication of the conventional geographical distribution. As the result of recording on a map the precise distribution pattern of each species, it becomes clear that the pattern of each species is distinct, and is discontinuous. When consideration is given in addition to the accompanying data on the relation between the season of their appearance and the change of their vertical distribution, the following three principal types of situation can be found: 1. The distribution pattern has much thickness, namely in spring it appears in the plains or lower mountainous regions, and the altitude inhabited becomes higher with the passing of months, and it is found athigh elevations in summer. Tn this case, the recent origin or the closely allied forms of the species may be traced northward from the pat tern. -

Faculty of Science, University of South Bohemia, České Budějovice, Czech Republic. 34 pp. Annotation This study uses cca. 510 bp of mitochondrial 16S rDNA gene for phylogeny of the beetle family Cerambycidae particularly the subfamilies Spondylidinae and Lepturinae using methods of Minimum Evolutin, Maximum Likelihood and Bayesian Analysis. Two included representatives of Dorcasominae cluster with species of the subfamilies Prioninae and Cerambycinae, confirming lack of relations to Lepturinae where still classified by some authors. The subfamily Spondylidinae, lacking reliable morfological apomorphies, is supported as monophyletic, with Spondylis as an ingroup. Our data is inconclusive as to whether Necydalinae should be better clasified as a separate subfamily or as a tribe within Lepturinae. Of the lepturine tribes, Lepturini (including the genera Desmocerus, Grammoptera and Strophiona) and Oxymirini are reasonably supported, whereas Xylosteini does not come out monophyletic in MrBayes. Rhagiini is not retrieved as monophyletic. Position of some isolated genera such as Rhamnusium, Sachalinobia, Caraphia, Centrodera, Teledapus, or Enoploderes, as well as interrelations of higher taxa within Lepturinae, remain uncertain. A list of the Cerambycidae of Honduras, with additions of previously unrecorded species Robert H. Turnbow, Jr.1, Ronald D. Cave2 and Michael C. Thomas3 Abstract. Munis Entomology & Zoology, 6 (2): 663-672] ABSTRACT: The type series of Apatophysis (Angustephysis) richteri Pic, 1956, Osphranteria lata Pic, 1956 (= O. richteri Heyrovský, 1959), Purpuricenus schauffelei Pic, 1956 and Derolus mauritanicus iranensis Pic, 1956 (= Derolus mauritanicus iranensis Lepesme & Breuning, 1958) (lectotype and paralectotypes designated) are examined and depicted. Apatophysis richteri is regarded as a synonym of A. modica Gahan, 1906. KEY WORDS: Cerambycidae, Iran, Apatophysis, Osphranteria, Purpuricenus, Derolus, new synonymy, lectotype, paralectotypes. During two expeditions to Iran (1954 and 1956) (Richter, 1956, 1961; Roselaar & Aliabadian, 2007) the German zoologist Willi Richter together with Friedrich Schäuffele collected, among others, some interesting beetles belonging to the family Cerambycidae. This material, preserved in the entomological collection of the Staatliches Museum für Naturkunde in Stuttgart (Germany) was entrusted for identification to Stephan Breuning, the well known specialist of Cerambycidae Lamiinae, who submitted a part of the Cerambycinae to Marcel Pic. This is proved by the sentence written by the French specialist M. Pic in a paper where he described five new taxa based on this material ("Cette espèce [Apatophysys richteri n. sp.] et les longicornes suivants m’ont été communiqués par le Dr. Breuning. Les types sont au Musée de Stuttgart ") (Pic, 1956).
