Addendum to the 2019-2020 Catalog

This addendum is an integral part of the College’s Catalog. The contents of this catalog addendum are provided as an update and/or in addition to the content specified in the 2019-2020 catalog. Effective Spring 2020.

Palo Verde College has made every reasonable effort to determine that everything stated in the academic catalog is accurate. Sometimes changes to the academic catalog are necessary after the date of publication. Courses and programs offered, together with other matters contained herein, are subject to change at the discretion of the college.

AGR 153 Irrigation and Drainage Course length: 54 hours lecture, 54 hours lab 4 units Irrigation and Drainage will focus on the problems that relate to soil-plant-water relationships, application scheduling, evapotranspiration, and efficiency. Introduction of irrigation equipment and technology to include water measurement, soil moisture measurement, pumping and delivery systems, and various irrigation methods. California water infrastructure, water budget, water rights and legislation will also be discussed and investigated.

AGR 154 Irrigation Applications Course length: 54 hours lecture 3 units Irrigation Applications will focus on the use of the mobile on-line applications that aid in the development and use of technology in the irrigation field. Areas of technology that will be examined and discussed include irrigation problem solving, applications, scheduling evaporation/transpiration measurement, fertilizer /nutrient delivery systems and water efficiency.

AGR 155 Irrigation Systems Design Course length: 54 hours lecture, 54 hours lab 4 units Irrigation System Design will cover a broad area of topics including micro, sprinkler, surface and subsurface applications. Topics include on-farm supply systems, piping and discharge as well as system efficiency and cost. AutoCAD and other common design software will be introduced and utilized.
