"Sharing then in the heritage of so many vast Lourdes Antonino and glorious achievements, let us hasten Sally Arrivee toward the goal of peace, set before us from Katalina Attisha the beginning. Let us keep our eyes firmly Klaudia Attisha fixed on the Father and Creator of the whole Lee Benson universe, and hold fast to His splendid and Ted Bratta transcendent gifts of peace and all His blessings." Sr. M. Brunetta "Brothers, we should be humble in mind, putting aside all Jewell Burke arrogance, pride and foolish anger. Rather, we should act Mary Busch in accordance with the Scriptures, as the Holy Spirit says: Francille Burns 'The wise man must not glory in his wisdom nor the strong Joe Caram man in his strength nor the rich man in his riches. Rather, Virginia Casey let him who glories glory in the Lord by seeking Him and Tom Duval doing what is right and just.' Recall especially what the Lord Monica Estes Jesus said when He taught gentleness and forbearance. As Nancy Evola you treat others, so you will be treated. As you give, so you Michael Fernandez will receive. As you judge, so you will be judged. As you are Jennifer Gaffey kind to others, so you will be treated kindly. The measure Ken Goffinett of your giving will be the measure of your receiving." ~St. Clifford Gregory Clement, Pope, from a letter to the Corinthians Susan Guria ON FEBRUARY 15, WE CELEBRATED 32 YEARS OF PERPETUAL Jack Hoolehan Newly Baptized EUCHARISTIC ADORATION HERE AT THE SHRINE! The Warming Center welcomed about 83 guests the first evening at Berkley Community Church. Five hundred volunteers make this two-week effort possible. Three key volunteers, Roland Barger, Pat and Nick Rozanski, coordinate with all of churches in the rotation. They have a passion for helping the homeless and are faithfully present at the shelter every evening from 8:00 p.m. until 12:00 midnight. Preparations for a meal and a warm, safe environment are made each day. In the morning some of the guests return by bus to the Welcome Inn (day shelter), while others – the working poor – return to work and go back to the shelter in the evening.

8 Shrine Herald National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica Pancakes and Jesus — Recapping the Weekend

This past weekend we had both our Sunday High School Rise and Friday Middle School Crossroads regular youth meetings. We ate pancakes, some of us won $1 bills, and all of us learned more about Jesus’ love as we took a look at John chapter 4, the Woman at the Well. Both groups of teens had conversations about what it means to know God’s love for ourselves and share that with others.

Crossroads Youth Meeting February 21 No Rise Youth Meeting February 23 7th and 8th grade teens, join us at Crossroads from 7:00- 8:30 PM in the Youth Room! We’ll spend time eating food to celebrate the upcoming Fat Tuesday, and talk about Lent to celebrate the upcoming Ash Wednesday! A dynamic duo, some might say. Come be a part of the community and all that God is doing.

Thank you to all who have dedicated labels for friends and family, living or deceased, in the New Gather Hymnals. We are having such an awesome response with this project. Thanks to all of you. There are still hymnals available if you would like to do a dedication. We all can use people praying for us at Mass. There are envelopes to fill out in church or in Heritage Hall. You can place the envelopes in the collection baskets on Sunday or drop them off in the parish office. Suggested donation is $20.00. Blessings to all, Sunday Mass Experience Team

Stewardship Thoughts 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time

In today’s Scripture readings from Sirach, Psalm 119, and St. Matthew’s Gospel, we learn that wholeheartedly following God’s commands and directives helps pave the way to eternal salvation. Be mindful that darkness influences secular society, which barrages us every day with temptations that attempt to block our relationship with Christ. Yet, if we are to deepen our personal relationship with Jesus, we must fight temptation that moves us to sin. We are truly free when we find and follow God’s will, not our own pleasures and desires. Jesus proclaims in St. Mark’s Gospel: For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and that of the Gospel will save it. In St. Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthian community, he reminds us of the Spirit of Wisdom that leads us. Prompted by the Spirit and approached with a contrite heart, the Sacrament of Reconciliation provides an outpouring of mercy, forgiveness, and grace to overcome one’s sins and weaknesses. Make time for this important sacrament this week.
