Bernard Galic, pastor of Holy Family Parish on South Bend’s west side, will celebrate his 40th jubilee this August. He says it was the pastor of his small boyhood parish who inspired his priestly vocation. The selfless dedication of Msgr. Joseph Schmidt, who labored in a mission church serv- ing three Pennsylvania counties, made a strong impression on the second son of Frank and Ursula Galic.
