James Dean Wilson Memorial Scholarship James Dean Wilson was a proud alumnus of Clinton Community College whose life was cut tragically short. He was a kind, loving son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend. He was always willing to help others and in that spirit, his family, friends and co‐workers created the annual Strides for James event to raise money to support educational scholarships for local students. Recipients of the scholarship are required to attend the Strides for James event, where he or she will be presented with the award. Please visit StridesforJames.org for more information about the event. The James Dean Wilson Memorial Scholarship through the Clinton Community College Foundation is available to a student graduating from Northern Adirondack Central School in June, 2017 who is attending Clinton Community College in the Fall 2017 semester. The $500 award will can be used to purchase textbooks or applied to tuition expenses. A qualifying student must have financial need as demonstrated in the FASFA (Free Application for Student Financial Aid) on file in the college’s Financial Aid Office. I Owe James Dean an Apology, and Where I Went Wrong By Fearless Young Orphan My History with James Dean On June 27, 2010, I posted my review of the two James Dean movies that were on my list of Unseen Classics (Giant and Rebel Without a Cause). Their presence on my list made the films required viewing for my project, and I paired the two reviews because James Dean was in both films. I point this out because my reasons for watching the movies in the first place had really nothing to do with their being James Dean films, at least from my viewpoint. Because I don't live in a vacuum, I have been aware most of my life of Mr. Dean's legendary status, but because I'm a cynic, I tend to get a little bristly when things or people have a legendary status. So I was approaching the material with some pessimism. It certainly didn't help matters that I saw Giant first and almost hated it. I thought it was bloated, boring and vastly overrated. I took a fairly grim view of Mr. Dean's odd performance in the film. Then I watched Rebel Without a Cause and had a strange experience. I did not care for it much at first, but by the end of that movie I had formed a grudging respect for the young Mr. Dean's work. I liked Rebel more than I thought I would. It did something that movies don't often do any more: it surprised me.

MID-WEST: Bonnie & Clyde bullets, Brodhead, Winsconsin. Wes: Our first investigation takes us back in time to an event that took place on a country road in rural Louisiana in the dark days of the Depression. It’s 1934 and a deluxe Ford V-8 tears down a quiet back road. Its occupants are two young lovers on their way back from the local store. They recognize a friend’s truck broken down by the side of the road and they pull up to offer help. Suddenly, gunfire erupts from the trees and the couple are gunned down in a carefully planned ambush. Their names are Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. Their killing captivated the nation and an American legend was born. Seven decades later, the story has wound up in the sleepy town of Broadhead in northern Wisconsin. Single mother Cassandra Goss is the owner of five bullets that she believes killed Bonnie and Clyde. Tukufu: I’m Tukufu Zuberi, and Wes Cowan and I have come to check out Cassandra’s story. Cassandra: My grandfather-in-law J.D. Goss, sat down and told me a story about Bonnie and Clyde and then took out this little wooden box and there were several bullets in this box.
