TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT Belgrade Airport "Nikola Tesla" (http://www.beg.aero/welcome.54.html) is approximately 20 km from the Belgrade centre. Best way to get from the airport to hotel is by taxi. Once you pass the baggage claim, you will find a counter that says “Taxi” and a person in a bright green vest. There you can get a voucher for a taxi, and the cost depends on the relation. Your relation is to the centre of the city, so you should get the voucher for EUR 20. To avoid "free lancing" taxies, when you pass the customs and exit to the airport arrivals, you can take the escalator on your left (to check-in level) and there go outside. The taxis waiting there are regular. If you are feeling more adventurous, you can take the public bus no 72 (goes every 30 min, details on: http://gsp.rs/english/additional.asp?id=72). You should go to the last stop called "Zeleni venac" (green wreath). From there to the hotels is 5 - 8 min walk. The ticket is RSD 80 (~ EUR 0.80) and you buy it from the driver, then punch it in a small yellow (sometimes blue) machine. It will take you approximately 35 - 45 minutes to the Zeleni venac, depending on the traffic.

Our case studies are ground in local knowledge. They are designed, conducted, and written by refugees and locals, capturing their voices and the perspectives of the communities in which they live. The project was conceived and is led by Karen Jacobsen, and is based at the Feinstein International Center at Tufts University. It is funded by the Henry J. Leir Foundation. Our goals are twofold 1. First, by gathering a range of case studies we are amassing a global data base that will help us analyze and understand the process of immigrant and refugee integration.

    Ministerial Conference Innovative Solutions to Pollution in South East and Southern Europe 4-5 December 2018 Belgrade, Serbia LOGISTICAL NOTE The United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment) and the Government of the Republic of Serbia, with the support from the Italian Ministry of Environment, Land and Sea, are convening a Ministerial Conference on “ Innovative Solutions to Pollution in South East and Southern Europe ” on 4-5 December 2018 in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia. The Conference will focus on the topic of pollution and explore innovative solutions to tackle it, emphasizing numerous challenges and risks it poses to the region. The Conference will be held in the wake of the 2017 United Nations Environment Assembly and will represent an important milestone leading towards the 2019 Assembly that will take place in March 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya. The official opening of the Conference will be at 09:30 a.m. on Tuesday, 4 December 2018. Pre-Registration: To facilitate advanced preparations for the meeting, participants are kindly asked to complete and submit the online registration form accessible at UN Environment’s website no later than November 27, 2018. Note: Before registering, participants will need to create their own personal profile in the Indico system.     EAST TO EAST PHOTOGRAPHY : Belgrade with Klavdij Sluban 3 -7 May 2021 An immersive workshop in Belgrade with Klavdij Sluban, a French photographer of Slovenian origin renowned internationnally, who has been photographing, exhibiting and leading workshops (also in Krusevac and Valjevo jails for teenagers) in Serbia for the last 20 years. Belgrade is one of Europe’s most happening cities and offers the most inspiring photographic ambiences. It hurtles towards a brighter future. Its chaotic past unfolds in front of your lens: socialist blocks are squeezed between art nouveau masterpieces, and remnants of the Habsburg legacy contrast with Ottoman relics and socialist modernist monoliths. Specifity of the workshop This workshop consists of developing one’s personal photographic writing throughout a unique exploration of Belgrade. Discovering places that remain hidden to travellers passing by will enable an exploration off the beaten tracks and outdoor spaces. Another part will be focused on more inner spaces and more interior and personal territories. The sensitive viewer will appreciate the multi-layered approach Belgrade offers. Klavdij Sluban’s capacity of sharing and transmitting photography helps each participant to find their skills as an author. Everyday photo sessions will be followed by a daily editing, main pillar to build a coherent and meaning- ful series. “Show me your photos and I will tell you who you are”.
