THE FIFTH ANNUAL ART EXHIBITION 2018 Child and Youth Development Center “MY WAY” MY WAY DEVELOPMENT CENTER Child and Youth Development Center “My Way” is an organization with over 20 different programs for children ages 5 to 18. Our programs include classes in art, music, dance, sports and much more. With a team of friendly, qualified and professional staff we aim to provide each child with the opportunity to explore different activities that can allow them to uncover their talents, hobbies and strengths, leading to a more fulfilling future. At My Way, our motto is “Each One Must Shine” and we align our goals and teaching methods to en- sure it. We focus on having a great variation of classes and activities so that each child can explore and find what they love and shine in. In addition to teaching various classes, we see to it, that our students reach new heights by performing and participating in concerts, fairs, festivals, parades, exhibitions and competitions. Our art studio is under the instruction of famous Azerbaijan artist and sculptor, Emin Guliyev. The soccer club is coached by Master of Sport in USSR, Aron-Arif Zarbailov who conducts an annual soccer tourna- ment in memory of the famous soccer player, Anatoliy Banishevskiy. Ballroom dance is led by 2- time USA National Ballroom Dance Competition Champion, a 3-time World Ballroom Dance Champion and the win- ner of Canada’s “So You Think You Can Dance”, Denys Drozdyuk, along with Antonina Skobina, a 2- Time USA Latin Dance Champion, World Championship Finalist and Blackpool Dance Festival Rising Stars Latin Winner. Another important aspect of My Way is multiculturalism. We believe that our students should be ex- posed to classes that teach them about their own traditions and roots, and at the same time, educating and opening them up to the cultures of their peers. With a diverse and caring staff we are able to provide an open and warm environment where any child can feel welcome. In My Way, one of our projects goes under the title “We are from Azerbaijan, We are with Azerbaijan and We are for Azerbaijan!”The project participants being: “The Rhythms of Caucasus” Dance Studio (Choreographers and dance teachers, Rashida Mammedo- va, Teymur and Medina Alisultanov). A different approach to teaching art is developed specifically for each individual. At “My Way”, stu- dents are encouraged to take risks and find the beauty in everything, not just masterpieces. Regardless of age, each student is able to learn new things about art each and every day in class. Students are given the opportunity to learn about materials they may have never worked with such as clay and watercolor paint by creating unique work. Alyona Badalova, the director of child development center and Emin Guliyev, a famous artist from the country of Azerbaijan, work together in order to uphold such an exceptional foundation for the fine and visual arts. What distinguishes “My Way” studio from others is that students are starting the learning of drawing and sculpturing via in-depth understanding of geomet- rical shapes, in other words – through structural not surface reflection of im- ages. Further, a learner at the “My Way” art studio develops a deep appreciation for the arts and is able to apply his/her knowledge throughout their daily lives. Imaginative, creative and inspiring are all words that can be used to describe the young artists at “ My Way”. Emin Guliyev teaches by allowing his students to create master copies of famous art work throughout history. He believes that by mimicking these artists, their style will be transferred to the young artist himself along with their own artis- tic approach.
