NMLA DIRECTORS Elected to serve 2020 through 2022

ASSOCIATE MEMBER DIRECTOR Matt Anderson, Global Marine Agency

Matt has been the President at Traverse City, MI based Global Agency for 6 years and a partner for the past 16 years. Global Marine specializes in providing marine insurance solutions for boat owners and marine businesses across the country and employs 35 marine insurance professionals. We are proud, 34-year members and sponsors of the NMLA as well as other marine industry associations including, the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas, the Michigan Boating Industries Association and the National Marine Manufacturers Association.

Matt’s first job after graduating from Michigan State University was as a Legislative Aide for a Republican State Senator in Lansing, MI. Prior to his marine career, Matt was a commercial banker in the metro Detroit for First of America Bank and later National City Bank. He hopes to use his career experiences of running a marine focused business, banking, and the Michigan legislature to benefit the NMLA. His past board experience includes being a trustee at The Pathfinder School, Grand Traverse area EDC board, Sunrise Rotary club board member and a member of the Grand Traverse yacht club.

REGULAR MEMBER DIRECTOR Robert P. Dunford, Trident Funding LLC

Bob graduated from St. Joseph University in Philadelphia, PA in 2002 with B.S. in Finance and within a few weeks of graduation, joined Trident Funding as a credit analyst. Over the past 17 years with Trident, he has had various responsibilities in credit, business development, accounting, and cash management and is currently Trident’s Director of Operations. Bob has been involved with the NMLA for the past six years, has served on the Board since 2016 and is the Vice President of the association and current member of NMLA’s Annual Statistical Report, Finance, and Marketing Committees as well as the Future Marine Lenders of America (FMLA).

REGULAR MEMBER DIRECTOR Karen Trostle, Sterling Acceptance Corporation

Karen is President of Annapolis, MD based Sterling Acceptance Corporation, a service company specializing in Marine and RV financing. Karen has been in the marine finance industry for 40 years and was Vice President of Maryland National Bank from 1973-1987, responsible for marine sales and operations of the bank’s 12 national marine Production Offices. She left the bank in 1987 to form Sterling Acceptance Corporation and today, celebrating 32 years in business, operates five regional offices.

Sterling Acceptance has been a member of NMLA for over 27 years and is also a member of NMMA and AVDA. Karen attended the University of Maryland and the University of Virginia Graduate School of Retail Bank Management. She is a current Director of the NMLA, chairs the Marketing and FMLA Committees, and served as NMLA’s President from 2009 - 2012.
