Duluth-- More than 200 UMD students are gaining in-class experi- ence during -winter quarter as student teachers assigned to more than 60 area secondary and elementary schools.
Dr. Alvin W. Ollenburger, acting director of student teaching at
UMD, explained that each student must spend the equivalent of 10 weeks or one quarter actually performing as a teacher. A resident professional in- structor observes the student who also is checked by a UMD faculty member.
