Swisslog Australia Level 7, 10 Herb Elliott Avenue Sydney Olympic Park 2127 Phone +61 416 865 553 Press release CeMAT steps into the future with Swisslog’s new warehouse automation and augmented reality technologies May 2018 - The latest intralogistics solutions that combine warehouse automation with advanced robotics, human-machine collaboration and augmented reality will be showcased by Swisslog and KUKA at this year’s CeMAT Expo in Melbourne from July 24-26, Stand F12. Swisslog Australia Managing Director, Mr Francis Meier, says that Swisslog’s latest automated warehousing solutions are highly applicable to CeMAT exhibitor companies and visitors in major industries across Australia, including food and beverage, retail and ecommerce, manufacturing, materials handling, transport and pharmaceuticals. At this year’s CeMAT Expo, Swisslog, and its parent company KUKA will be partnering to demonstrate the latest advances in smart intralogistics solutions, virtual reality technologies, Industry 4.0 solutions for smart manufacturing, and a cloud-based software platform that allows users to access analytics of their KUKA robots from any device at any time. “In addition to the latest robotics and technologies, Swisslog will also be exhibiting its SynQ software, which uses Industry 4.0 principles to provide condition monitoring and digital shadowing to shape the future of warehouse efficiencies,” said Mr Meier. “Visitors can interact with virtual and augmented reality applications to experience first-hand the added value that virtual warehouse planning and pick-by-vision picking deliver,” he said. “Swisslog will have expert staff on hand to discuss its extensive range of modular and automated logistics and warehousing solutions that can adapt and grow in parallel with a business.” KUKA Robotics Australia CEO and Managing Director, Mr Greg Sale, says that to better understand the combination of manual handling at the workstation with picking by a robot – in other words, human- robot collaboration – visitors will be introduced to LBR iiwa. This sensitive, lightweight robot from KUKA can work hand-in-hand with a human operator without any safety fence. LBR iiwa is a collaborative robot, or “cobot,” which unlike a traditional industrial robot, does not work in a cordoned-off area, but interacts directly and flexibly with employees. “These technologies are driving new innovations in warehousing, logistics and supply chains, and making operations more efficient and safe. Many of these technologies are highly visual, so an exhibition like CeMAT is the ideal platform to engage with visitors and show them just how advanced robotics and automation has become,” said Mr Sale.
