Remembering All Those Emotions from Game 7 of the World Series By Leo Webster

It was the day after the comfortable Game 6 win. 2 days after Halloween. Even though I was sooo tired I had to stay up to watch the CUBS!!!! Right after Dexter Fowler’s leadoff home run I was thinking it was going to be a good game. It was going back and forth CUBS then INDIANS, CUBS then INDIANS. It was getting closer and closer and then Grandpa Ross hits a home run to score a single taking it to 6-3 Cubs. I was thinking, we’ve got this, we’re going to win the World Series!! The 8th inning arrived, Aroldis Chapman relieves Lester on the mound. How could there be a problem with a 100 MPH pitcher. Let’s go Cubbies. Then when Aroldis Chapman gave up the 2 run homer, I fell apart. There was no way the CUBS could come back from that horrible mistake that could have cost us the GAME!! I felt like I should go to bed but I just couldn’t. The game was tied so we were in for a nail-biter 10th inning. I was really excited to watch the 10th inning, but also really nervous. When I realized that tarp was going on I was so mad at the rain. When the tarp was coming off I thought, this is it, can we do it? I was thinking….maybe not! The CUBS were batting first and I couldn’t sit still. With Cubs on first and second and Ben Zobrist at bat, I was thought we are definitely getting a run. Then when Ben Zobrist got a double for an RBI I burst into happiness. When we got another run I was SO SO SO HAPPY!!!! But then they got out and it was the Indians turn to bat. When the Cubs gave up another run I was getting so so nervous!! It was 8-7 and the Indians were batting. Then when Kris Bryant picked up the What do you do when you are not working? ground ball to throw to Anthony Rizzo I was thinking please don’t screw this up! He didn’t so I was able to celebrate wildly for the World “I love to go out to dinner, I love to go to the theater, I love to Series Win! I just kept on shouting “CUBS WIN, CUBS WIN!” GO CUBS!!!! WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!! I AIN’T AFRAID golf (but not very well:]),I also love to watch sports, I love to OF NO GOAT!! WE CAME TO REIGN!! IT HAPPENED!! FLY THE W!! socialize and do hot yoga! The Agreement The Native American On December 4th, 2016, the US Army Corps of Engineers denied the permit for the pipeline construction. Native The Dakota Access Pipeline You might be wondering about what kinds of interesting things are Americans are people who happening with Native Americans right now. Well, let me tell you. There are always things going on with Native Americans, but right are native to America.” now there is something really important. This is called the Dakota Access Pipeline. If it was fully built, it would run from North Da- kota to Patoka, Illinois, which would also run through the Stand- ing Rock Sioux tribe reservation. When the Sioux tribe found out about the plan, they had two main concerns; first, the construction of the pipe would ruin their burial grounds; and second, if the pipe leaked, it would pollute their drinking water. The building of the pipeline was put on hold so the Native Americans and the govern- ment could come to an agreement. But this is a very tough decision; for if they build it anywhere in the reservation, it will ruin their water if it leaks, and they have only have had this one water source for a long time. But if they build around the reservation it will take lots of effort. It seems as if the government does not care about these Native Americans, but that is not true. Many people say they are trying their best to come to an agreement, but as I said earlier, it’s not as easy as you think.

The Pipeline Protest Some people in this country have gone to North Dakota to protest the building of the pipeline, in hopes to change the government’s mind. This protest is called the pipeline protest, for they are pro- testing to stop the pipeline. Did you know that more than 100 people have been arrested since the pipeline protest began? Yeah, that’s a LOT of people, but it’s, kind of a big deal, what’s happen- ing. Just look at the pictures below for a big piece of proof.
